Boy, Some selective editing there. The title of the article on the Herald is "Dolphins welcome Ricky's return" and the entire quote you abreviated is

"A source indicated the Dolphins gave Steinberg a tepid response but will at least discuss the idea. But a new deal likely would include the same type of recoupment provisions Williams had in his deal before his retirement and subsequent forfeiture of his $3.7 million base salary."

he was one of the main reasons the franchise was 4-12 LY. He signed the contract and he should live with the contract, especially what he did LY.

Use him this year, then trade him next.
 
Im curious what they plan on doing with his contract, He certainly can't be expected to play for $300k or whatever.

Lets See,

I'm glad you are not in charge of our team. Last year is the past. New coach, new staff, new team. All are very accepting of Ricky and he will be an impact player. Once he proves his worth during the season look for a midseason extension and contract revision, probably based on incentives.

I am tired of trying to explain that Ricky will not be traded. We can never get his true worth on the trade market. He will ALWAYS be more valuable to us than what we would get in return.
