Hard to start the season without a designated wide receiver. They desperately needed Chad Johnson to have some type of presence in the wide receiver core. Supposably he was in the top of the Depth Chart the whole time but with Chad gone the chances that any Quarter is able to be successful has gone down. Not sustancially but enough to hurt the team. In the end the biggest loser here is not Chad Johnson but the Miami Dolphins. More like a case of wounded pride, they need to cut him cause he had a fight with his old lady. Yet we didn't cut Marshall when he whoop his old ladies ass.

Supposably and sustancially? Can't take this thread seriously. Chad needed to be cut! If he is the difference on this team, then we are/were in trouble.

New coach new philosophy, no point in bringing up Marshal.

No team is desperate for what little Chad provides at this point in his career.

i agree with you man.

most of the people on this site are just nutt cases who posses some sort of weird hate for every player on this team. Whenever they get cut or "suck" everyone rejoices, but when they do well they are "mediocre" or "scrubs on any other team" etc. Its always should we cut this guy - what can we trade this guy for? who is going to be on the block? etc.

I agree - i think philbin is trying to be BB from New England before he has won anything - just like Tony did. Restrict the crap out of guys - cant even curse and have fun at a press conference. sounds like a "no fun" type team which is the same thing that lead to the 0-7 start last year under Tony.

the morale of the team will be hurt by this i am pretty sure and now we have no wide recievers. Trading Brandon was the first mistake - this the second.

as much as i liked philbin at first - i dont know - he did not look comfortable with the players walking in to the QB room etc in hard knocks either. He seems stiff and old fashioned. the players dont seem to love him that much - we will soon see - if it translates to wins then he will eventually get respect - but if not, he will just be another failed disciplinarian type coach.

we already have our better corner sitting on the sidelines while sean smith misses tackles due to "intangibles" Not too happy right now.

They could trade Marshall and get something in return by getting rid of a headache who couldn't get his personal life in order. There was no such option with this moron.

He was and is on the street for a reason.

Everytime I read one of these bizarre assumptions that Miami lost anything more than a worn out sideshow makes me realize why the NFL doesn't appeal to me all that much anymore.

When the **** has any player cussed at a media press conference? Oh thats right never.

He wasnt even good. Good riddance.

without looking inside a crystal ball. How do you know we "lose" in the end?

Actually the Miami Dolphins win because they stood by their ground when Philbin gave Chad the ultimatum of "you better behave or your gone". Besides, who's to say we don't have a receiver that's capable of breaking out? Wallace and Pruitt looked pretty good the other night. Hopefully they can continue and maybe the one of the rookies can make an immediate impact.

I think we need to chill as far as our receivers are concerned and let the chips fall where they may. As has been stated around here, it's not like adding a receiver is going to put us over the top. If someone becomes available...great. If not, go with what we've got and hope for the best I say. And no more troublemakers! Fool us once shame on you, fools us twice shame on us.

Yeah man, our coach is a real schmuck for trying to establish a basic standard of professionalism and human decency. God, man, what a dictator.

I'm not sold on the approach to Vontae yet either. Time will tell. I would have liked to keep Chad on the team, but you just had to let him go in this situation. I mean you just told him to get it together and he does this. Head butt the new wife, common man.

I give you that and you are perhaps right. We will see how this turns into for Miami this coming season. If he lands with another team and plays big then someone is going to look like a fool and not some mighty thor guy.

I mean I can understand if the Dolphins were new England with proven players who know how to win but that is obviously not the case.
