Dolphins may seem like the winner by releasing Chad but in the end they lose

Actually the Miami Dolphins win because they stood by their ground when Philbin gave Chad the ultimatum of "you better behave or your gone". Besides, who's to say we don't have a receiver that's capable of breaking out? Wallace and Pruitt looked pretty good the other night. Hopefully they can continue and maybe the one of the rookies can make an immediate impact.

I think we need to chill as far as our receivers are concerned and let the chips fall where they may. As has been stated around here, it's not like adding a receiver is going to put us over the top. If someone becomes available...great. If not, go with what we've got and hope for the best I say. And no more troublemakers! Fool us once shame on you, fools us twice shame on us.
Obviously he hasnt seen the first episode of hard knocks heres the link

i agree with you man.

most of the people on this site are just nutt cases who posses some sort of weird hate for every player on this team. Whenever they get cut or "suck" everyone rejoices, but when they do well they are "mediocre" or "scrubs on any other team" etc. Its always should we cut this guy - what can we trade this guy for? who is going to be on the block? etc.

I agree - i think philbin is trying to be BB from New England before he has won anything - just like Tony did. Restrict the crap out of guys - cant even curse and have fun at a press conference. sounds like a "no fun" type team which is the same thing that lead to the 0-7 start last year under Tony.

the morale of the team will be hurt by this i am pretty sure and now we have no wide recievers. Trading Brandon was the first mistake - this the second.

as much as i liked philbin at first - i dont know - he did not look comfortable with the players walking in to the QB room etc in hard knocks either. He seems stiff and old fashioned. the players dont seem to love him that much - we will soon see - if it translates to wins then he will eventually get respect - but if not, he will just be another failed disciplinarian type coach.

we already have our better corner sitting on the sidelines while sean smith misses tackles due to "intangibles" Not too happy right now.

Yep. No fun team. What good is it to play on an NFL team if you cant bust your wifes head open. Seriously.

He's just having fun and being himself, man. Who is Joe Philbin to tell him that he can't cut his wife's head open?

Yeah, he cut a player that was already on thin ice because he'd given a profanity filled press conference, was warned to shape up or ship out, then followed that up by head butting his wife. I can clearly see how he's trying to be BB. LMAO, where do you people come from? Come on man! Chad is facing criminal charges and unemployed, the Dolphins just cut a player who wasn't really going to that much of an upgrade over what they already had at the position. Hmmmm, yeah, i'd say advantage Dolphins..

I give you that and you are perhaps right. We will see how this turns into for Miami this coming season. If he lands with another team and plays big then someone is going to look like a fool and not some mighty thor guy.

Yea. He's a real threat to pop off. If someone signs him this season, which isnt all that likely, watch out for him putting up another huge season like he did the last couple of years.

Restrict the crap out of guys?? A guy was cussing like a 12 year old trying to impress his buddys, at a team sponsored press conference, and Philbin asked him nicely to chill with the language and that is "restricting the crap out of him"?? WOW, I can honestly say I disagree with every point you made.

There is nothing I see about Philbin that would make me see him as a strict disciplinarian. To me he is trying to be too much of a "players coach" trying to get people to like him. I will say I totally agree and respect the way he has handled the Chad situation. He seems to me to be the kind that is tough when he has to be, but maybe tries too hard to be their friend when things are going smoothly. It is not his job to make them "love" him as you mention. That NEVER works, it is his job to make sure they respect him, and that is something else entirely.

Shame on all these football coaches that won't let "Chad be Chad".

Never wanted 85 anyway...and thats purely based on on-field actions. It didn't make sense replacing one one WR distraction in Brandon Marshall with another in Chad Johnson anyway. I think Ireland and Philbin redeemed themselves with this release.

I think we should of waited for all the facts, before cutting the guy. Nobody knows what actually happen. People are always going to believe the female side of the story.

I dont care what he did offield really. he's washed up IMO. If his concentration is on hard knocks and Fbombin and interupting coaching meetings for the camera, then this guy does not fit.

Chad is no good. It was a great thing they cut him tonight. Awesome!!!

I think we have multiple young bucks that would be better off for us for the long haul.

I am so confident in what I say, that I hope he goes to the Bills or Jets!!!! I would laugh so friggin hard!

Chad Johnson likes to freelance just as much on the football field as he does in real life...........meaning he was never a good route runner, also meaning he'd never be anything more then just a guy here in a west coast offense.

At best he was going get around 600 yards, so it's really no big lose.

Any man that can head butt a woman isn't deserving of his reproductive organs, inner and outer. Let alone a spot on an NFL team!!!!!!! What a douche bag! I don't care if he gave the fins "hope" or had "talent"... Which btw, he isn't that great come on guys. I was definitely more upset about Manning "turning us down" more than anything else leading up to this season. Let's not get butt hurt over some loser who ruined his future because the POS can't control his temper ;)
