Dolphins may seem like the winner by releasing Chad but in the end they lose

I, for one, am excited to finally see what Roberto Wallace can bring to the table. Getting rid of the head butting moron will open up that opportunity.

It would be really nice if Roberto pans out & Hartline recovers.

Hartline (IF recovered)/Wallace (IF productive)/Bess/Nannee.... + next year 1st round WR and all of a sudden we have a solid WR core.

Those are serious IFs but still very possible.

Never wanted 85 anyway...and thats purely based on on-field actions. It didn't make sense replacing one one WR distraction in Brandon Marshall with another in Chad Johnson anyway. I think Ireland and Philbin redeemed themselves with this release.

Was never thrilled with bringing him in either but unlike some I wasn't waiting for the day he failed the organization but Philbin absolutely had no choice.....good riddance Chad.

i agree with you man.

most of the people on this site are just nutt cases who posses some sort of weird hate for every player on this team. Whenever they get cut or "suck" everyone rejoices, but when they do well they are "mediocre" or "scrubs on any other team" etc. Its always should we cut this guy - what can we trade this guy for? who is going to be on the block? etc.

I agree - i think philbin is trying to be BB from New England before he has won anything - just like Tony did. Restrict the crap out of guys - cant even curse and have fun at a press conference. sounds like a "no fun" type team which is the same thing that lead to the 0-7 start last year under Tony.

the morale of the team will be hurt by this i am pretty sure and now we have no wide recievers. Trading Brandon was the first mistake - this the second.

as much as i liked philbin at first - i dont know - he did not look comfortable with the players walking in to the QB room etc in hard knocks either. He seems stiff and old fashioned. the players dont seem to love him that much - we will soon see - if it translates to wins then he will eventually get respect - but if not, he will just be another failed disciplinarian type coach.

we already have our better corner sitting on the sidelines while sean smith misses tackles due to "intangibles" Not too happy right now.

Ask that New York Giant coach what stiff and old fashioned get you.

Stop kidding yourselves Bess, Moore, Hartline and Nannee have a total of 21 TDs in their combined career's. The rest of the group has a collective ZERO! Statements like we will be fine are crazy talk the system doesn't fabricate talent.

no huddle will change that. think new orleans. you think driver and nelson were world beaters for GB? cmon man, either you get what philbin is about or you do not. right now you dont get it. just like chad. your a fantasy lover.

It's not like there was just some argument at this house and the cops came..his wife had a 3 inch laceration on her head. C'mon , chad had no established roots/success here, and now he won't get the chance. Chad's loss > Dolphin's loss

Cutting a guy who hits his wife and gets arrested for it will hurt the morale of the team? Who knew?

However, same old GM.

Really? Parcells never would have drafted a QB with the #8 pick, especially with a stud LB available; Parcells would only have hired tired old cronies to staff his coaching positions, not gone outside and shot craps with unfamiliar faces.

Grasping old agendas can indeed be psyche-satisfying, even when they look like they've become a vestigial organ. :idk:

Hard to start the season without a designated wide receiver. They desperately needed Chad Johnson to have some type of presence in the wide receiver core. Supposably he was in the top of the Depth Chart the whole time but with Chad gone the chances that any Quarter is able to be successful has gone down. Not sustancially but enough to hurt the team. In the end the biggest loser here is not Chad Johnson but the Miami Dolphins. More like a case of wounded pride, they need to cut him cause he had a fight with his old lady. Yet we didn't cut Marshall when he whoop his old ladies ass.

What? B. Marshall was with another coaching staff. Chad Johnson was out of a job in football for a reason. If he was so needed for our offense, why is it all the experts are saying no one is going to pick up this "valuable" receiver. Chad was given the terms with this team and he broke them, goodbye and thanks for coming, but he knew the length of his leash.

Chad needed us more than we needed him. That is not just slagging on the guy, it's the truth. Look at how hard it's been for Terrell Owens to find work, and he is twice the player that Chad Johnson is. Chad's career is done unless someone gets really desperate.

Supposably and sustancially? Can't take this thread seriously. Chad needed to be cut! If he is the difference on this team, then we are/were in trouble.

From the spelling to making up words this thread was dead from the start. Gotta agree too...if Chad Johnson was going to be the difference we have some serious issues.

...we didn't cut Marshall when he whoop his old ladies ass.

Did that set a precedent that every future Dolphins coach must follow? The Dolphins weren't going anywhere this year anyway. There's little reason to keep CJ around. I never thought it was a smart signing. It always reeked of desperation at worst or a lack of confidence in our WR group at best.
