Dolphins | May sign Peyton Manning without seeing him throw
Thu, 08 Mar 2012 18:32:06 -0800
Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross may be willing to sign free-agent QB Peyton Manning (neck) without anyone in the organization seeing him throw or at least not knowing if he is fully healthy. It is believed Ross has told general manager Jeff Ireland to do what he can in order to sign Manning.

Dolphins | Hope to meet with Peyton Manning soon
Fri, 09 Mar 2012 08:36:36 -0800
The Miami Dolphins hope to sit down with free-agent QB Peyton Manning (Colts) in the coming days. The Dolphins need to meet with Manning and his reps before moving forward; they also need to examine his medical history. The Dolphins are reportedly one of the teams in the mix to land Manning. While a timetable for Manning making a decision is not clear, the Dolphins would likely need a decision by 4 p.m. ET March 13, which is when the free-agent market begins.

I'm on the Peyton train 100% like everyone else, but signing him without seeing him throw would be a terrible idea

why wouldnt manning want the phins see him throw first?id be skeptical..
It's not Manning not wanting the Dolphins to see him throw. It's Ross saying he would be willing to sign Manning without seeing him throw.

Some wonder why the media butchers the Dolphins and Ross when he says and does stupid **** like this.

Pure Speculation by whoever wrote this. It doesn't even say that Ross or anyone in the Dolphins organization said that, they just know Ross wants Manning and are speculating he would do anything to get him here. Grasping at straws basically...

It's OK. We have the YouTube video.:rolleyes2:

Exactly.....but we also have Archie Manning saying that "Peyton is looking like Peyton again." That's enough for me. If Peyton couldn't throw it like he used to, I think he would be announcing his retirement.

Where does it say Ross 'said' anything?

We made Drew Brees throw the ball so many times, that he got annoyed, and joined New Orleans.

So maybe the Dolphins organization is now afraid to scare away recovering QBs by making them throw the ball :)

Look at it from Manning's perspective, if he throws for the Dolphins and then for some reason they don't sign him (for whatever reason)...the thought will be that it didn't go well, lowering his value somewhere else.

I think I read in an article somewhere that our team doctors advised against the Brees signing.

agreed. if peyton couldn't throw the ****ing football he wouldn't be out conning people.

you have to realize that you are dealing with a class act individual, not some ponzi schemer.

regardless, it's probably going to be a incentive laden deal with an average base salary, and it's pretty simple..

if he doesn't throw or play, there needs to be something in the contract to cover your ass...
