According to ESPN's Damien Woody.

The Miami Dolphins received plenty of praise this offseason. The free-agent signing of Pro Bowl defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh and re-signing in-house quarterback Ryan Tannehill and Pro Bowl center Mike Pouncey to long extensions have created optimism that this could be the year Miami ends its six-year playoff drought.
However, one NFL analyst has major questions about the Dolphins this season. ESPN's Damien Woody questioned the Dolphins' toughness Monday on NFL Live.
“I got issues with Miami up here,” Woody said, while pointing to his head. “The last couple of years they've melted at the end, which tells me they’re soft. They’re soft mentally. Until they’re able to finish, you know, I’m going to call it what it is.”
Do you agree or disagree with Woody's comments, Dolphins fans?
As Woody mentioned, the Dolphins were in position to make the playoffs in the final month of the season both in 2013 and 2014. But Miami faltered down the stretch in both years. Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin and several players said this offseason they are examining ways to play their best football late in the year.
The Dolphins, overall, didn't get much support on NFL Live Monday. In addition to Woody calling Miami "soft," both host Stephen A. Smith and analyst Mark Brunell said they weren’t convinced the team's offseason moves were enough to make the Dolphins a contender in the AFC East.

I agree with him for some players but I feel like we jettisoned a lot of week players this offseason like odrick Starks wheeler (obviously). Couple of players still lingering in my opinion; sturgis, Matthews.

Well if melt downs at the end of the seasons are considered soft, the record is what it is, there were also to many games giving away in the second half.

I kind of agree with the opinion also feel that there was to much of a breakdown in the locker room from the bickering of the offensive line to the distracting attitudes of a few players. .... and all handled poorly by the staff...

But I must say I think that besides possibly Philbins approach at times we are trying to build a much more intimidating team of players more focused on winning being the standard for "success" unlike the past decade of just trying and being content to reach a level of mediocrity....

Maybe Woody was right about the past but I got a feeling that this year our team is finally bringing a can of woop azz to the field and we may not get to the big dance but hopefully our opponents would think twice about wanting to play us again......

I agree to some extent. Call it "soft" or lack of will, etc. I think coaching is to blame for this partially. Hopefully the Suh signing can add some grit to this team, and a little swagger to compensate for the lack of leadership displayed last year.

if we had a head coach that was worth anything maybe that would make a big difference in these late season meltdowns. people say guard or lb or cb is the weakest link on this team but in my view philbin is by far the weak link!

I agree, but I also think its a reflection of the leadership and talent that we've compiled. We haven't had guys who can dominate during the stretch of a season. I feel like some of the players we've had in the past were good until teams got enough film to find out how to expose them. The defensive coordinator (last year) hasn't been the most creative either. Down the stretch the defense was getting pummeled and the guy didnt have a clue. SMH

The team takes on the personality of its HC.

I disagree, this team is not soft. a lot of these guys have shown great resolve in the face of adversity in the wake of Jon Martin meltdown and battling through a massive amount of injuries last season. I think we have had mentally weak guys on this roster in the last two years that Hickey has gotten off the roster in Wallace, Martin, Jordan and Wallace. With the dead weight jettisoned the last two offseason I think our team leaders will prove that they are capable this year.

Hopefully Philbin is learning on the job.

But you have to admit we haven't had anyone of importance stand up in the locker a take charge....which says something ....

Now Suh has the recognition and will, Jennings the maturity and skill and it is even starting to look like RT is possibly growing a set and realizing that his responsibilities may be just as important in this area as on the field...again learning on the job ... Its just refreshing to see the team actually moving in a positive direction with purpose again..............it's been so long in the waiting..........

It is what drives me absolutely bonkers about the Dolphins for the past 15 years or more!

I am out of my freakin mind about it!

Shula NEVER EVER let this happen to his teams - even with pathetic Brian Sochia as our nose tackle.

Shula did WHATEVER he had to during the game to get it done.

I am sick to my soul with that 3 and out during the crucial Green Bay and Detroit 4th quarter games!

Do WHATEVER you have to do to keep the ball out of the opposing offenses' hands - but we crumbled!

And Jonathan Martin proved SOFT!

So I agree totally and I am sick of it.

On the other hand I do believe Suh don't play that...

If anyone can do it its Suh - I need this S to end so come on Suh bring it!

Yeah, but if the defense does what its supposed to do, those games are won too. So it doesn't all ride on the offense.

Before Suh got to Miami, who on Miami could intimidate opposing teams? Nobody. Hoping Suh makes the team nut up a bit when its on the field and play with a little attitude.

Joe's biggest downfall is his lack of emotion. Yeah, players will play for him, but I doubt anybody in the league would say "man, I want to play for that guy" like they would for John Harbaugh or Rex Ryan. Every time I hear Philbin speak I'm left uninspired and without emotion. That's what the team feels like at the end of the season when the playoffs are on the line.

As good as Miami has looked at some points during the last two seasons, the December stretch of games has been absolutely pathetic. That rides on Tannehill too. Even with a mediocre head coach, there should still be a player, usually the quarterback, that can corral the team and get **** together. That's been Tannehill's biggest disappointment of his career so far. I hope that changes this year.

So all you have to do is play for New England and someone will hirer you to be a analyst

The last couple of years? Um, I've been watching for over thirty and I can tell you Mr Woody it's been that way for a long time. Analysts = knuckleheads.
