Dolphins Mid-Season Review

Great post, this points out the positives and the negatives about the dolphins. I agree that this team needs a stud NT and desperately a big time wide receiver. I think that we need to sign the wr in free agency and draft the NT. With that being said for the next few years this team will be a wildcard berth at best. But in a few years, after we draft more solid players, the dolphins can seriously contend in the afc.

Go phins!!!

That was a nice read. It really puts things in to perspective how far we've come. I believe we're right on schedule of the plan these guys have for the team. Of course, it's not going to be pretty. But let's just say, this team is going through the "terrible twos" this year.

real good read got me pumped up for the future of this team...only thing I disagree with is one start for Solia doesn't show me he is a career backup at all

Agreed with the needs of NT and WR. Here are some interesting thoughts, if the Chargers franchise Jackson then we can make a run at Merriman, or if they franchise Merriman we can make a run at Jackson. I know some people will say Merriman isn't producing, but look at his last 2 games 4 sacks and a ton of big plays. He has passed that dritical 12 month period on the ACL rehab and it shows. Another angle is Wilfork is in his final yr of his contract and is a Miami guy.

I think the best route is to attack receivers in free agency becasue it is critical to the development of our young QB. Not to mention you generally see more production right away from rookies on the dline.

Perhaps the most pressing need is at the wide receiver position. This offense will never be what it needs to be to get to that next level until they get a true "go-to" number one receiver. Opposing defenses have no reason to respect Miami's passing attack, allowing them to go all-out to stop the only real threat this offense has - their ground attack. But Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams will become less and less effective on the ground as teams continue to put eight, and sometimes even nine, in the box to shut them down. In all honesty, can you blame them? I'd do the same thing. None of these receivers would even scare me a little bit./B]

I swear I have been posting this all week
