Dolphins might add another running back

Impossible to call any one back the greatest ever. It can't be truly done. There have been so many greats in so many different earas and a great back today might not have seemed so great back in the 60's & 70's and the same in reverse. Would Larry Csonca have thrived in today's NFL that doesn't value the fullback position much at all? How about Jim Brown who was a beast in the 60's but wasn't expected to catch many passes out of the backfield? All the players are different. Remember back in '85 when a guy like the Fridge was considered a freak of nature at 305lbs because there wasn't but a half a dozen NFL offensive/defensive linemen over 300lbs. Now they are considered underweight in most cases.

No way we take a RB in the first round, even if Richardson is there. To many other needs and we already have Bush and Thomas. No one can give Thomas crap about last year. He was not the featured back. He showed a lot of promise with the limited carries he had. Oh yeah, how did Ingram do??

Limited carries Thomas had the most carries of any rookie running back
25th in carries in the NFL

Guess who had the LOWEST yards per carry among rookies with at least 85 rushes
Mr Thomas 3.5 yards per carry

Ingram had 5 rushing tds guess how many Thomas had.....ZERO

A LOT OF PROMISE...

We also had about the worst offensive line in the league for opening up holes in running situations. Please remember that he had to run behind Columbo & Carey against a defensive with at least 9 guys stacked at the LOS near the goal.

I saw plenty enough from Thomas this year to know he can be successful behind a competent o-line and that he isn't talented enough to be productive without it.

Limited = Thomas was not featured back on our team, therefore his carriers were limited. Please you are trying to split hairs to make a point. Thomas average 3.5 yards per carry. More carriers would only have pushed his average up. Bush was given the ball inside the 20 not Thomas. Can't blame him for no TDs. Ingram yard per carry average was 3.9. For someone who was touted as the next peterson he was pretty much a no show. Not worth a 1st rounder in my book.

Last year everyone (not everyone, but a lot of people here) were clamoring for Mark Ingram in Round 1. He is an average back. I don't believe Trent is much better. We need to stay away from RB's in the first round unless they are absolute monsters. Richardson is a very good back - but he's not a beast IMO.

Ricky was a beast, AP is a beast, Ingram is not, Richardson is not.
