Players deservedly get a lot of the accolades at the end of the year, but I want to recognize a guy that coached his ass off this year...our TE coach, Dan Campbell. After Keller's injury, I think fans were begging for a trade or waiver wire miracle TE to step in to at least be serviceable, but look at what Campbell has done with this TE crop. Charles Clay broke out into a threat that other defenses now have to gameplan for. Dion Sims has played well in the roll he was provided and even provided a highlight reel TD catch in his rookie season. Last but not least, Campbell finally made something of Michael Egnew. He's not the seam stretcher we all hoped he would be, but the kid has shown the ability to go in and make some tough blocks from the line of scrimmage and from the H-back position.
If there's one position group that's more than held its own, it's the TE group. I congratulate them all on a good season, and I tip my hat to Dan Campbell for a solid coaching job this year.
