Dolphins MUST sign Andre Gurode....NO EXCUSES!!!!!

A Pro Bowl acorn just fell from the tree. It would be completely irresponsible for this team to not do whatever it takes to sign this guy. If he is even 70% of what he was last year it would still be a huge improvement over what we currently have and would allow Carey to move back to his natural position at RT. The solution to the offensive line problems just fell in the Dolphins lap. Now what do you do about it Dolphins? DON'T DROP THE ACORN!

This signing would fix several problems on the O-line.

1. It would allow us to have a seasoned pro bowl vet making line calls at center
2. It would allow us to FINALLY have a real pulling guard at guard (Pouncey)
3. It would allow Carey to move back to RT and solidify that spot.

I doubt they make that much movement this late, the way I see it is either we find someone to play tackle or nothing

I think we will start and end the season with Pouncey at center and Carey at gaurd
 
I totally agree with this and am surprised that we haven't heard anything yet about bringing him in yet. I mean, he doesn't just play a position we are in need of but he's an EX Cowboy..lol.
We need to make this happen. Ireland, there isn't much out there and our weakness has been pretty evident (Oline). I am crossing my fingers that he gets signed today.
 
This NEEDS to happen. You know it would figure that Tony realized that he has tinkered with the Oline too much and doesnt want to continue adding pieces would keep up from signing a TRUE upgrade. Our OLine sucks, plain and simple

YEP.......they need to get a private jet to Dallas..NOW...and fly him to Miami before dinner time period :-)
 
We need this guy to come in and play RG if they don't want Pouncey to move. How great would it be to have this guy teaching Pouncey how to play center? Damn Probowler sooner than later.
 
If he doesn't agree to play guard we are not signing him, I strongly believe that Pouncey will not be moved
 
I just don't see Carey moving back to RT since they forced him to take a pay cut (to move to Guard) or be released. If they ask him to move back to RT his agent will be on the phone asking for his previous salary to be reinstated...I would. Sparano and Ireland may have burned that bridge.

The more likely scenerio would be, IF we sign Gurode, play him at Center, move Pouncey to LG, move Incognito to RG (his more natural position) and still have an issue at RT with Colombo...Carey would most likely be released.
 
Salguero just said we will def call his agent to check his health and do our due diligence, he had knee surgery but is 100% healthy and was only released because he is owed $5.5 million, I think we should sign him and adjust the line to look like this : LT Long, LG Pouncey, C Gurode, RG Icognito, RT Carey/Murtha
 
I'd laugh and cry at the same time if they didn't pick him up for spite of all our threads stating we only pick up cornfed ex-cowboys. As if they read our posts....
