Dolphins | No formal offer to Capers
Tue, 10 Jan 2006 21:31:44 -0800

Jeff Darlington, of the Palm Beach Post, reports <A href="http://www.kffl.com/team/22/nfl">Miami Dolphins head coach Nick Saban has yet to offer former Houston Texans head coach Dom Capers a position on his staff. There has been talk of Capers joining the Dolphins as defensive coordinator, but that may not be the case. Capers still is hoping to be considered for one of the remaining head coaching vacancies

I guess Capers is gonna get a head coaching job!!! Who would take him as coach after poor seasons in Houston Dom just come to Miami and be our D coordinator

i agree he won't get hc job this year.

Am I the only one reminded of Wanny a bit when it comes to Capers? A great DC who thinks he should be a HC even though he cant make it as a head coach.

He did a pretty good job getting the Panthers off the ground.

Yeah, kind of.
But Capers has Casserly getting players like Greenwood and giving them massive salaries that they clearly don't deserve. Wanny at least made mistakes by himself, I also think that Capers has a few creative bones in his body compared to Wanny.
He did get the Texans going a bit last year when they had an 8-8 season, I think if Casserly bothered to scout O-lineman properly instead of getting what sounds best then they would still be improving.

Capers has the right to wait to see if he gets some feelers as HC. Also, he does have a stronger connection with Coughlin at the Giants than he does Saban. He may be waiting until after the playoffs as to whether Tim Lewis is hired ?? Give the man a break. While he hasn't won a SB as a coach, he's started two franchises from the start and done a decent job of it...nonetheless, he as a great D mind that happens to mesh well with Saban's D.
