LJ Shelton at Left Tackle was a mistake.
Culpepper's holding the ball too long was a mistake.
Culpepper's lack of mobility was problematic.
Harrington being interception-prone was a mistake.
*************
With Ronnie Brown getting 4.1 YPC... and practically never fumbling.... he should have run the ball more.
*************
Chambers was usually not in the game plan. Barnes was invisible. McMichael had trouble blocking.

Too many drops by our receivers. Especially Chambers and McMichael.

Hadnot was a poor run-blocker at the beginning of the year. He seemed to improve by the end of the year. Uncertain if he improved enough.

MacIntosh outplayed Shelton, but was not as good as 2005. He seemed a little sluggish.

Jeno James played injured for half of the season. Although he's good when healthy... it was similar to Dante.

Red-zone offense was not very productive.

McMichael, for the amount of time he had to stay in the and block was good for a blocking tight end. His top weakness was dropped passes. When he did catch a pass he was hard to bring down and could produce alot of yardage...

Red zone efficiency, we were one of the worst in the league. I think it was somewhere around 35%

Nah, you're way off the mark.
When you ask what went wrong, I would suggest the following: We didn't score enough.

We didnt score enough because of most of these problems. He's more accurate in this post than unaccurate

Often times poor execution...but also very questionable play calling (i.e. 2pt conversion to tie the game vs Texans!?!)
I thought McMichael would have been a better blocker in his second year having Hudson Houck helping him?

You can sum our offense up in 3 statements.
-Poor QB Play
-Didn't feed Ronnie enough
-Lackluster O line

...mcmicheals been in the league for 4 years now?

We have a terrible offensive scheme and our game preparation process was too weak. When a team wants to make a strong load of tricky plays, this means they manage the un-tricky system and need to add variety in order to become versatile and adapt new unexpected plays. With Murlakey calling, our tricky plays were the angular stone of the system, making our tricky plays look very easy to stop and without the necessary preparation to succeed. Ronnie Brown looked too hurried while throwing and many times the sync was loose.
Our receiving troops drooped too many passes, in part because of hurried passing, and because of confidence.

I was being facetious. My point was that there were a few empty statements. Not much analysis. It's like saying: The real reason we didn't make the playoffs this year is because we didn't win enough games.

That would be inaccurate. Sorry had to do it. :D

Sorry, The I and the U are right next to each other. Still feeling the effects after drinking my way to watching a Rat-Triots loss last night :D

:sidelol: You sounded like Madden..."The team that scores the most points usually wins the game"

I feel that the lack of a leading QB really hurt us, I think personally if we had Drew Brees we would had at least made the playoffs. :tantrum:
