I'm still not sure after reading that exactly why they kept him on. Explanation given doesn't really comfort me.
I agree 100% but I will admit the new OL coach seems like an upgrade just from the things he is saying.
Yessir! 100%I've done this offseason dance enough times at this point that i'll believe it when i see it.
Man, everybody from the owner to the new OL coach are on the same page at least. This is another example of them blasting Flores as the cause of the dysfunctional offense and the crappy OL. How can JeanPierre be a great guy and good football coach and the OL be in need of a total overhaul because they were terrible last year? Blame has to be on somebody.Staying with Jeanpierre because he is a phenomenal guy and a good football coach, he is impressed.
I really like where this new staff is headed.
What could possibly go wrong?
...just building around our QB... Whats another 3 years...Applebaum hits on a key item: this offense and zone blocking scheme requires a different level of lineman as far as athleticism goes. This is going to immediately eliminate some guys on this roster, such as Austin Jackson. He possesses none of the athleticism of movement required for either a tackle or especially a guard in a zone scheme. Jessie Davis? Goodbye. Meat maulers like Kindley? Thin ice. This could take 2 years at best to properly build.
