Dolphins Offseason Thread (Mandatory Mini-Camp 6/10 - 6/12)

Hope you don’t like getting the ball kid as the backside progression.
Yea I'd imagine he'd be more of a focus in the red zone but even then unless the oline holds up way better than this guy is gonna be like the 3rd or 4th progression and we all know thats not happening cause Tua will throw it after the first 2 reads at most, especially down in the red zone.

Hope this guy has some value as a blocker cause I dont think hes sniffing 9 TDs this year with Tuas lack of going thru his progessions before he gets happy feet or the mental timer in his head goes off and he gets rid of the ball.

I mean unless Miami shifts to a more 11 based personnel the 3rd wr role is essentially a throw away and maybe some red zone fades.

But backside is not gonna be featured under Mcd.

No chance he sniffs 9 tds. That was the outlier of all outliers with the titans.

In the tight red zone tuas basically making one pre snap read and decision and the ball is coming out. He can’t afford to hold it to a secondary progression he will take contact. 3 step that ball has to come out.

Yeah I don’t think that’s right, it’s from schefty but makes 0 sense
McDermott is on the competition committee and has openly spent the offseason talking about why they want to ban it.

He then goes out and calls it enough that Buffalo and Philly together run it more than the other 30 teams combined.

But they definitely voted against it

Happy feet and Tua. You’re too funny. But hey, you watch tape and post a million articles that other people wrote. So I’ll trust your opinion.

Never said to trust my opinion, but Tua does not go thru his progressions in the red zone he’s hitting one maybe two reads at most, and since his last concussion he’s playing to get rid of the ball when he feels pressure or he stays moving his feet to reset in the pocket or scramble outside and throw the ball, but there was definitely an uptick in how much he moved his feet.

You can see all of this in his all 22s so need to take anyone’s word for it.

I disagree that he doesn’t go through his progressions.

Also, in the games after his concussion in week 3, (9 games) he had a comp % of over 70, 18 TD passes and only 4 INT’s. With 7 of those 9 games having no INT’s. He also had games with passer ratings of 125, 128, 129, 114, and 104… all elite… 1 great 98, two average with a 92 and 89. And one poor… 60.

I said when he gets to the red zone he becomes a one or two read QB, and not sure what his stats have to do with him moving his feet more and getting rid of the ball on a timer, it wasn’t a bad thing with the OL we trotted our last year.

The way your post came across was a criticism. If that wasn’t your intention then I’m wrong.

My point was, after his last concussion he came back at an elite level. And last season, after his concussion, he was 35-50 (70%), 15 TD’s and 1 INT for a 118 passer rating in the RZ.

I doubt a one read QB gets those numbers inside the RZ.
