Perkins very purposefully stated on YouTube that while they can't report which specific position players are practicing at, or which string, that Eich has practiced at only one position so far, and that he had bad snap today.

So what he's implying is that Eich is not in consideration for either starting Guard spot, which ostensibly means that his only direct path to the active roster is beating out Meyer for OC2. That's good news.

I think that's assuming too much, considering Perkins and reporters have only watched one practice. The fact Eichenberg didn't take a snap at guard on Wednesday doesn't mean he won't see a ton of snaps there next week. Don't think Eichenberg is starting in 2025, but if injuries take their toll, I wouldn't be shocked if he comes in at guard.

It’s an admission of guilt

At least they are addressing it, but they’ve lost the trust of the fans so it’s just all talk until we see a team that is serious about winning something

The key point in your sentence is at the time he signed, Grier has lacked the foresight to sign his draft picks a year early so we aren’t paying premium price for non top 5 production.

Waddle is the only one I can remember them signing early and even at 28 mill it ended up being an overpay for how he’s played since and the fact that money could’ve been spent resigning Hunt instead of a number 2 receiver who has a similar skill set to our top receiver.

I agree 100% with this. Grier likes to play games and waits too long. Or maybe it’s Shore since he’s in charge of contracts.

Yup that's why it's important to draft consistently. You never end filling those spots

I don’t blame the defense for anything really, they exceeded expectations imo.

I heard McDaniel and players last year talk endlessly about their bond, unity and work ethic

Why glad? The OG spots killed the 2024 offense so we spent 2nd and 3rd round picks to draft another OG who we hope turns out to be a Pro Bowler like Hunt?

We could’ve drafted another 2 DBs with those 2 picks instead of throwing a bunch of UDFAs out there.

Choices matter.

Yeah but even that was questionable. He started off very slow not being great his first two years. His 3rd year was fantastic and he played every game but then his 4th and contract year he was injured and missed almost half the season so hard to pay a guy with a year and a half of great player the 2nd highest paid guard in the league. Personally would of been okay either way resigning he would of been a big overpay but semi agree with you and I think he was certainly a better option than Wilkins ever was who got like 10 million over what he was worth compared to Hunt at 5 million over on the other hand he’s a 10-15 area guard getting paid top 3 money.

Truth be told Hunt is worth somewhere between the "slap in the face" offer he received from the cap-strapped Phins in late December '23 and the over the top contract he signed with the cap rich Panthers in March '24. He's an Athlete's First client, it was always going to be difficult. Good for him for grabbing the brass ring, here's hoping Jonah Savaiinaea lets us close the Rob Hunt chapter for good.

This Front office severely underestimated the Value of Interior line play. Both sides of the Ball. Hopefully they learned the hard way last year and continue to invest.

Really disappointing if he’s not taking offseason workouts/conditioning/improvements seriously, especially going into year 3 after literally producing nothing in his first two seasons. I don’t know if that’s Nick being sour because he chose to workout with another trainer, but if this is true then his career is going to be over before it starts.
