Dolphins Offseason Thread (Mandatory Mini-Camp 6/10 - 6/12)

Did he dabble in personnel a lot ?

I may be wrong but I think he was the gm too. At least heavily involved or in charge.

But either way how long would it take you to realize I need to give this qb who absolutely deserves a championship a run game and defense around him?

I think Shula was pretty clueless with it. Which I find inexcusable

They tried to band-aid it several times...but their DC was pathetic, and for the life of me I can't figure out why Shula hung onto him.

My expectation for Austin Jackson this season is Top 5 right tackle.

One of the reasons I enjoyed 2016 team was that win in Buffalo in December. They were not great but we usually lost to to them even when they sucked. And game against bills in Miami. Qb 17 made a great throw to Landry on third down across his body. Funny enough gase had best record against bills. Was 4-4. Otherwise they have owned us
It had nothing to do with Gase. The reason the Bills have owned us is Josh Allen. When a team has an elite QB it becomes very difficult to defeat. If we had one, even with McDaniel or Flores we would have done way better than we did against the Bills tha last 7 years. I have not seen Tua on that level even when healthy. Hopefully he will be someday but my hopes are very low. And now the league is full of elite QBs with Jayden Daniels, CJ Stroud and Bo Nix all cappable of joining the top tier list in which Tua was never included.

What about Jim kelly
thad Lewis
And Tyrod Taylor? The bills have owned us. Before and during Tua. Don’t tell me about the 70s. I don’t care.
And yes I know it nothing to do with gase lol.

Do you want me to share the bills record against us from 2004 to 2017. ? Pre Tua and pre Allen ? And before you hit me with those dolphins teams were terrible. So were those bills teams. They didn’t make playoffs for 17 straight years. Let me know if you want me to share the our record against them those years before the great Josh Allen and pretty good Tua. Hint. It’s not good for Miami. lol. They own Miami.

against bills
2004. O-2
2005. 1-1
2006 0-2
2007 0-2
2008 2-0. Beat them in Canada too lol
2009 1-1
2010 1-1
2011 2-0. Reggie bush snow game
2012 1-1
2013 0-2 and cost is playoffs
2014. 1-1
2015 0-2
2016 2-0
2017 0-2

Add it up. It’s not pretty. They don’t own us because of tua verse Josh Allen. They own us because we are never physical enough even when both of the franchises are bad or good.

Let me know if you want the records from 87–95. They are a little better

Ok. Gase was a Genius!

You are wrong. Saint Marino all but refused to run the ball half the time. The d coordinator problems were on Shula but not the talent until the end.

Miami Dolphins

Biggest camp storyline: Does Miami trade veteran players?
Player(s) to watch: Jalen Ramsey, Jonnu Smith, Tyreek Hill

The Dolphins are another team where minicamp could be engulfed by personnel moves rather than on-field play. Over the last few months, Miami has been at the center of various trade rumors revolving around some of its veterans. The club confirmed it has mutually agreed to seek a trade for Jalen Ramsey, while also flirted with the idea of moving tight end Jonnu Smith, with the Pittsburgh Steelers lurking. Looming over all of this is also star receiver Tyreek Hill, who had his future in doubt to begin the offseason, although things seem to have simmered on that front. All of this begs the question of who'll be with the Dolphins when they begin minicamp. Specifically with Ramsey (who will sit out minicamp as a trade gets works out), it will be interesting to see who within the cornerback room will step up. Cam Smith and Storm Duck are the two names to monitor.
