Dolphins Offseason Thread (Mandatory Mini-Camp 6/10 - 6/12)

Do you really believe that if Miami hadn't signed Poyer last season that no other team would have given him a shot, at least in a vet reserve role? I thought he would have had a shot at a roster somewhere just to see if he had anything left in the tank.
Poyer was a secret agent sent by the Bills, maybe even a double secret agent since he went on that ayuhuasca retreat with Rodgers. I'm kidding, barely. Fluck that guy and his big mouth wife

Pretty sure he signed pretty late in the process did he not?

No I don’t think teams were banging down his door. And what he get from us $3 mil? Why would the bills walk away from that?

Cause they thought he was washed.

I think if anything someone would’ve signed him for the 3rd safety role, but yea don’t think anyone was gonna sign him as a starter. When the Bills showed that little interest in resigning him I had a feeling he was pretty washed, his last year in Buffalo he was not good at all, he could still diagnose plays but his athleticism has left him and he couldn’t react to his instincts like when he was younger

I doubt he’d have come back for a depth role. He has/had a pretty big ego.

Seems you are right about that since he’s still unsigned and hasn’t retired. The most any team wanted him for this year after watching him with us was a depth role and he’s not interested cause of that ego like you said.

Because of his ego, I also think he will hold off retiring to see if there’s an injury to a contenders safety room so he can latch on there and possibly start. Don’t think we are done seeing him just yet

I tell my wife this all the time.

Now whether she believes me is another story. How's the USA?
My experience with women leads me to believe that men have "lost the war of the sexes".

Consider this old saying:
Men chase women until a woman catches the man.

Or this complaint I have heard from a man who divorced several times:
Find a woman you hate, buy her a house and get it over with!

Enough said. - LOL

A good GM wouldn’t of needed to sign him and start him just to see if he had anything left.

His year before with the bills it was so damn obvious he was burnt toast, perhaps Grier didn’t do his homework

Correct Sir! We never had a chance to win that war. My father once asked me:

What do you have when 1 beautiful woman walks into a room with 12 powerful men?

I said I didn’t know.

He smiled and said, “You have 12 outnumbered men.”

I’ve found that to be very true.

More praise for Storm Duck. I think this was Miami's plan, the entire offseason. They decided to develop the young kids and jettisoned the malcontent children. Live or die with the young and hungry.

And I am 100% on board with this. Development in house cheap talent. That talent may actually surprise you.

My dad would say, "A woman's beauty will capture a man's heart, but it's her personality that wins his soul".

Beauty has wrecked relationships throughout time. Never fails.
