Dolphins Offseason Thread (Mandatory Mini-Camp 6/10 - 6/12)

I like how you call regular season win totals as “facts.” This is quite literally moronic. The Bills and Pats have piled up wins against division opponents they’ve dominated. Whereas the Ravens, Steelers, and Bengals have played difficult intra-division games. But carry on with your “facts.”
Are you blind? Illiterate? I included postseason wins plus SB wins and appearances. 😂

And the regular season wins are facts. I love how you put them in quotes and pretend that they aren’t. Maybe you don’t know what a “fact” is? 🤔 🤣

So, a team that plays in a more difficult division with tougher intra-division games must have a better record than a team that steamrolled their division annually? Yes, someone is blind and illiterate, but it isn’t me.

And post-season and Super Bowl wins are one thing - Tom Brady. The existence of Tom Brady does not mean the AFC East has been a better division than the AFC North.

I think he’s having a go at you.

But for now we keep 4. Unfortunately we have a habit of getting dinged up.
All last season, we carried 4 RBs, 4 TEs, plus Ingold on the 53-man roster. I don't see any reason not to expect the same thing this season. We also kept one RB, Deneric Prince, on the PS the entire season.

I expect some fans to be pleasantly surprised by Alexander Mattison. I think he's a decent backup level running back that can be a plus in both the run and passing game. I know Hoops and afew other don't think much of him, we shall see lin about two months.

Oh boy. You’re one of those guys. 😂

I love how you ignored my post addressing your illiteracy and completely made crap up.

Your claim was that the AFCN, over the past 11 years, has been a much tougher division than the AFCE. The initial topic was how well the Steelers have done over that period of time. Well, both the Bills and Pats have been better than the Steelers, Ravens, and Cinci. The Jets have been about as successful as the Browns and the Dolphins have had about the same number of wins per season as Cinci. Cinci has been better, of course, over the past few seasons, but that wasn’t the claim you made. You said last 11 years. Each team’s average wins in the regular season, and their total playoff wins, shows that to be incorrect.

Over the past 11 seasons, AFC North teams have an 242-209-3 outside of their division.

The AFC East’s record outside of their division over the same period is 234-221.

Case closed.

I would rather keep a younger player somewhere else then keep Mattison

Having three young backs would be plenty of talent for the reps during a season, if one got injured then you could reality find a depth player anytime

Sooo… ignoring about 50% of their games against each other somehow proves to you that the division was tougher? Lmfao… You realize playing each other is part of a division being tough, right?

Guess not. What a retarded post. And you were so smug. Hahahaha

Retarded, you say?

50% of their games? Hmmm, division games are 6 out of 17 and were 6 out of 16. Hardly 50%.

But I do love how you completely refute your own moronic point. Yes, playing each other makes a division tough. And the Patriots and Bills have steamrolled the terrible AFC East for the past 20+ years. I point out that the AFC North has more difficult intra-division games and you respond with regular season win totals over an entire season, claiming the AFC East is better because the Bills and Pats won more games. Now, I point out that the AFC North has a better record vs. the rest of the NFL and you claim playing inside the division makes the AFC East tougher. LOL.

And the guy consistently throwing around insults (retarded, smug, illiterate) calls me “smug.”

Can’t make it up.

Over the past decade, the AFC North is 33-42 against the AfC East.

AFC North against:

AFC West: 39-49
AFC South: 49-27

2 out of 3 AFC divisions the AFC North has a losing record.

AFC East against:

AFC North: 42-33
AFC South: 46-42
AFC West: 37-39

2 out of 3 AFC divisions the AFC East has a winning record

“cAsE ClOSeD” 😂

You might be right. But living in Pittsburgh I noticed that the afc north most years was ravens stillers. Browns are always down. Bengals had a little stretch with Andy dalton that they were playoff team. They kinda reminded me of our current dolphins. Now the afc north is 3 team that are very good or competitive. But from around 2005 till now most years it was just ravens and Steelers. Bengajs had a few decent years with Carson Palmer. Then about 3 playoff years with dalton. But watching the Steelers I always I felt they had automatic 4 wins most years with bengajs and browns. It pissed me off. lol.

Funny, because all of what you’re stating on the AFC North vs. the AFC East and AFC West is based solely on the combined records against the Patriots and Chiefs. Those two teams are the reason the AFC North is under .500. So yes, that clearly bolsters your argument. LOL. Two teams that have dominated the NFL for two decades somehow means the AFC North isn’t a better division than the AFC East. Good work.

I’m pretty sure we have kept 4 and a fb every year with mcd.

But I don’t disagree with ya I think mattison is pretty washed
I am thinking they want Achane to be more of a receiver and sprinkle in a few carries a game with Wright and Gordon doing most of the rb duties. If that is the plan it would be good to have Mattison around if either of the young guys struggle or 1 gets hurt. Pretty sure coach said in a recent press conference we need to run the ball better to create more space and keep the d honest and will need to bring a safety down to the box. I hope he holds to that, with both new guards I am optimistic. What do you guys think?
