dolphins on the good side of one of the top ten worst moves of the offseason

Great trade... those guys will both probably end up starters for us.

Not sure they got so fleeced they basically got rid of big contract and TE they would likely not need.

They got a DP for players they were gonna release, I wouldn't exactly call that a huge loss on their part.

They probably won`t even feel it...Fassano, or Martellus Bennet as your backup TE? A healthy Zach (????), or Ayodele, in rotation...and get a 4th (RB Tashard Choice)
Worked well for both teams...

Why would they trade away Fasano, and then waste a 2nd round pick taking another TE in Bennett? They may not feel it but it was a dumb move wasting a 2nd rounder.

extra dumb. unless you don't like 2nd round picks.

If you guys had the slightest clue how good Bennett can be, you'd understand why Dallas did it. Martellus is an athlete and a half. Only TE in the league with his type of ability is Antonio Gates so get off Dallas's back. Fasano and Bennett aren't in the same league in terms of talent.

Obviously Fasano was not in thier plans and Bennet is an upgrade.

We are the ones who got fleeced with the Zach Thomas release and sign back door deal jerry and Bill shook hands over.

Let's see - here is the write up -
<<Bennett isn't an elite run-blocker and doesnt have great top-end speed. However, he's a great value. Watching him on film and knowing that he played college basketball for two seasons, it's hard not to compare him to San Diego tight end Antonio Gates. Much like Gates, Bennett knows how to use his size to box defenders out and he can make tough catches in traffic. Taking the comparison even further, Bennett is versatile enough to flex out wide as Gates does in the Chargers' offense. >>
Will it ever stop - the search for the next Gates? Wait he played BBall and in football he is a TE - so he must be the next Gates! If this guy was so good would he have lasted until the bottom of the 2nd rd - pick #61 - the 4th TE picked in the draft - NO!!! BTW Fasano was the 53rd pick in the 2nd rd in '06 - 4th TE picked. The beauty here is the guys trading for Fasano not only drafted him but coached him so let's assume they know what they are getting. We aren't going to ask Fasano to go 1 on 1 and dunk the ball - he just needs to knock a DE or OLB off the ball or get open 5-10 yards downfield and move the chains. Home run hitting TE's - give me a break - that is what you have WR's for!! I want a TE that can knock some guy off his feet and open some space for my RB and when they need it slip out and make some plays in the passing game. I'd say Fasano was a steal for a 4th alone - add in Akin and that was a pretty good trade.
