Dolphins Owner Overruled On Trade Down & Drafting Lamar Jackson

Wow if true!

Imagine that, a QB that could escape pressure and make big plays providing some excitement on offense.

Sure would have helped out our OL over the QBs that played this year when then opposing defense always knew exactly where our QBs would be camping out. Although I thought Brock did okay the first couple of games before he became shell-shocked.

The answer may be for Ross to go Jerry Jones and GM it by himself.

I’m pretty sure even Ravens fans know he’s not a good QB or the long term answer at the position.
Doesn’t matter. It’s the optics. Ross feels like he was right, and he was overruled by the guys he trusts to make football decisions, the thing they’re supposed to know a lot more about than Ross.... and now Ross looks like an idiot for trusting them. Therefore- ‘all of you get the **** out of my office, ‘cause you’re ****ing fired’.

Lamar Jackson cannot even throw an out route, like 3 of them sailed over WRs heads today. He makes Mike Vick look like Dan Marino. He throws about as well as Tebow, but with slightly better motion. If Jackson does not find his accuracy over the summer, and I mean BIG time, then he'll start to show his true colors next season when opponents adapt and Baltimore will be in serious trouble (Flacco will be gone). Jackson is not a starting, franchise QB in the NFL.

That's why people who aren't talent scouts (or at least football experts) should have no voice in such situations.

Optics aren't winning any games.

I didn't know those were the details but it makes sense. The Saints were so enamored with Marcus Davenport they traded up with the Packers who picked 3 spots later than Miami. That trade involved New Orleans' first rounder in 2019.

One of the front office types who overruled Ross should at least tell him that we would have been rooting against the Saints all year to raise the draft pick, but they end up with the best record in the league. Ross would have conceded the point and offered a cookie.

This Lamar Jackson guy improves every year. I'm not sure it is wise to discount him. All of his passing stats are fine so far, especially for a rookie.
