good, another ex bucs bum gone.

Now only guy left from our years of bad drafting ... is the new gm -_-

He must have been one of the ones on the wrong side of the divided office.

You mean the ones who stood up to the puppetmaster? Fair play to Hickey, the man wasnt a good gm, but when TBaum told him to bend over his answer was clearly no "how far" unlike Mr Grier.

Everything is now becoming clearer now.

Stokes was Hickey's guy. I can remember a press conference where Hickey went out of his way to acknowledge and congratulate Stokes. My read is that Tannenbaum observed them all up close and the guy he really liked and could work with is Grier. While Hickey and Stokes depart, what we also got because of them is the computer system that the team uses to evaluate all players. Apparently one of Hickey's very best contributions (apart from selecting Jarvis Landry) was to move the team to a far more sophisticated player analytical tool for evaluation. In comparison, Ireland had not embraced the technology.

i didn't know any of this regarding the use of analytics w Hickey and none w Ireland. Nice post - great insight.

Who?!?

 I gotta cut back on the sauce.

Im just relieved we didnt actually go out and actually interview worthy guys and have an actual hiring process for the GM esp since Tannebaum just wants an in house yes man

I guess now everybody's finally on the same page? I'm actually surprised Stokes wasn't fired earlier, he was clearly a Hickey guy. They were probably hoping to make him leave on his own without paying termination, or something.

Maybe he had to complete the task of writing up evaluations for all players. This is not Cincinnati or Oakland, Stephen Ross has the reputation of not being a cheap owner re termination payouts. Particularly since Eric was tied at the hip to Dennis Hickey.
