What kind of a night was this for the Miami Dolphins' pass rushers?
The kind of night when 300-pound linemen could get into a would-be dance contest.
There were eight sacks in all, including two apiece for linebacker Charlie Anderson and defensive end Tony McDaniel. But it was McDaniel's third quarter shimmy along with Lionel Dotson's move that followed in the fourth quarter -- that stood out in the winning locker room.
"My sack dance probably needs a little work," Anderson said after a 10-7 win over New Orleans in the preseason finale. "I tried to do something similar to T-Mac, but I didn't get it done. I put Tony's up there around a 7 or 8 on the [10-point] scale. Mine's only a 4 or 5. I've got to go back to the drawing board on that."
How about Dotson's moves?
"Dotson had a good one but I only saw the end of Dotson's," Anderson said. "I wasn't feeling his. Maybe if I looked at it on tape, I could tell what kind of dance it was."
The main point was that the Dolphins, after managing just two sacks in the first two exhibition games, registered 12 in the final two games against Tampa Bay and New Orleans.
