Dolphins Plan to Move on from Suh after this Season (per Slater)

Would I be surprised? Not really. Can't remember the last time La Canfora got anything right about the Dolphins, though.

Not only would it be very high, we'd be losing a stellar player for nothing. Clickbait

We have to move on from him, even if we must take the dead money hit. We need his money off the books sooner rather than later.

I think this article is completely believable. They may try to trade him first to a team that has huge amounts of cap space first - like Cleveland.

He starts the article off by saying "the latest in a string of incidents"......what bullshit. Suh has been a model citizen while here in Dolphin land, now has he been a saint, of course not, but don't start the article questioning the man as being some how a dirty player. However, I digress.... If the article is true, I understand why the Dolphins would want to make a move like this, but getting rid of a player of his caliber for nothing is crazy. I'll ask it again guys, does this team have the look and feel of a team going through a rebuilding phase? I know some of you have dismissed this but I have been feeling this way since the draft. That Charles Harris pick was surprising to me, what does this say about Wake and other veterans on the team?

If this happens Tannenbaum really needs to start answering some questions; like why a GM is still employed to cut a player on a contract he was responsible for, who has not disappointed with his play on the field or any off the field issues. Don't sign him to the contract in the first place if it's a bad contract you dingus.

It makes sense though. However the problem is we built a defense around suh and the wide 9. The wide 9 sucks. Can we get rid of both? If we dump suh no need to keep the scheme

Next year is the first one of Suh's contract in which the team would have a cap savings from cutting him. There would be $22.2M in dead cap money, but there would also be $3.9M in cap savings if he were cut before June 1st.

In 2018 that changes to $9.1M of dead cap money, and $17M in cap savings.

I think there is serious merit in considering cutting him. I don't think he affects the opposing passing game anywhere near enough to warrant his cap hit, and defending against the opposing passing game is the most important function of any defense in the NFL.

I think this has to do with Gase, he seems to be building the team in his image.

I’d be fine with it, he’s a hell of a player but he’s not a dominant pass rusher as say a Aaron Donald or Gerald McCoy.

Miami could use that space to really add 3-4 total players to the defense. Only if they trade him

This front office, ownership and staff love him,
I see a restructured contract next year.
I don’t believe the article at all.

I wish and hope he’d restructure to knock that cap number down some millions but I doubt it.

I bet Ryan Tannehill will tho, and he’d gladly take less to add some damn players.
