I'm not sure if this is off topic, but it is about how the Phins are viewed in the fantasy world, and to most people in general. I find it uncomfortably accurate. Kind of misinformed at times, but still pretty precise.

"Henne was one of last year's biggest disappointments, as he regressed in just about every way possible. He looked shaky in the face of pass-rushers, he rarely took shots downfield and he was unreliable in the red zone. The Dolphins benched him in favor of Chad Pennington in Week 10 (only to have Pennington get hurt on the game's first series), and Miami rotated in Tyler Thigpen in the season finale. The truth is, though, that Henne dodged a major bullet when the Dolphins decided to acquire Matt Moore this summer, rather than a proven veteran commodity. We tentatively expect Henne to win a camp battle and start Week 1, but he'll probably lose the job at some point during the year. With the Dolphins' running game a question mark and Brandon Marshall not doing enough to resuscitate the passing game, expect the offensive slog in South Florida to continue"

"Marshall took his talents to South Beach promising great things, but spent much of '10 grousing about Chad Henne and needlessly chucking balls away from officials, incurring delay-of-game penalties. Yes, he topped the 1,000-yard mark, but his production was down across the board from his Denver days, including a shockingly low 2.8 yards-after-the-catch average. Fulfilling every worry we had about his change of teams, Marshall almost never got the ball deep, scored only three TDs (two of which came in December after many fantasy owners had given up on him), tied for third in the NFL in drops and missed two-plus games with a bad hamstring. Marshall's talent for racking up 150 yards receiving in any single game is beyond doubt; he has done it at least once in three straight seasons. But on a conservative offense with a shaky QB? Marshall is a borderline choice to start for your fantasy team."

"Bush missed eight more games in '10 with a broken fibula, making it 16 out of his past 42. He's 26 years old and ludicrously quick when healthy. But it seems the former No. 2 overall pick's full potential will never be reached as an every-down back. The Saints traded him to Miami this July rather than pay him $11.8 million, and with the Dolphins Bush is likely to be no better than a third-down complement to rookie Daniel Thomas. Bush's value is probably a bit higher in South Beach than it would've been in the Big Easy, because there's less competition for carries. But he's a huge injury risk and probably won't touch it 200 times. His best case is as a PPR sleeper."

"Fasano is what he is. He has inconsistent hands, but runs good routes. He's the Dolphins' unquestioned starter, but they have a strong preference for the run and have never found a way to get Fasano up to even 40 catches. A couple of years back he scored seven TDs, but that was fool's gold. He doesn't have great speed or elusiveness in the open field, and he doesn't exactly have Dan Marino throwing him the ball. Plus, rookie Charles Clay could steal a few looks this year. Fasano belongs to that genus of tight end that might have a big week or two; best of luck guessing when those games are coming."

"Bess is Wes Welker Lite, a rock-solid slot player who'll get between eight and 10 targets most weeks and make a few plays after his admittedly short catches. Bess jumped from two red zone targets in '09 to nine last season, which led to his career high in touchdowns, but of course, Brandon Marshall is the marquee man in Miami. Bess finished tied for 37th in wideout fantasy points last year, and it's unlikely he'll best that mark in '11."

"Through Week 10 last season Carpenter was a fantasy force, with a whopping five games of at least 12 fantasy points and an accurate 10-for-12 on field goals of 40 yards or longer. Things dropped off after that, including a crushing 0-for-4 performance in Week 15 (aka the fantasy playoffs). The truth with Carpenter is probably somewhere in the middle. He has put up solid percentages throughout his three-year career, but the Dolphins' offense is rather pedestrian."

Defense
"B.C. Lions transplant Cameron Wake has done more for the CFL than a lifetime's worth of McKenzie Brothers promotional work could ever do, exploding for 14 sacks as one of the NFL's most feared pass rushers last year. This Dolphins D has a look about it: Koa Misi was a gem of a pick last April and is a great complement to Wake, Sean Smith played better after an early-season benching and is a clear starter opposite excellent corner Vontae Davis, Paul Soliai is one of league's top five nose tackles and Karlos Dansby was as good as advertised despite missing time late in the year with turf toe. Defensive end is a spot where the Dolphins have invested heavily in recent drafts with very little return so far (Phillip Merling, Jared Odrick, Kendall Langford), and that keeps them out of the elite defense rankings. But they're headed in the right direction."

The lines that crack me up are things like "The Dolphins' offense is rather pedestrian" and "We tentatively expect Henne to win a camp battle and start Week 1, but he'll probably lose the job at some point during the year".

Discuss if you please.

article seems based on last year performance
difference is henne seems better and the offensive line seems worse
odrick is not a weakness lol the d is for real..

lolwut

Yea, Langford sucks and DE is really holding us back here. Sweet God almighty

More of the same old Dolphin Pessimism that I see every day around here from Fans/ESPN

Ha it seems accurate as a whole, but some things are so laughable! BTW this was not posted to bash our team, but to have a good laugh at how people view our Phins.

And now I know for sure that ESPN has NO clue what they are talking about. That's good stuff.

Everything ESPN bases their predictions on is from the prior year, they dont take the time and research what we have done. I wish we could ban all ESPN articles on the Dolphins.

I can tell you D. Thomas is a free agent in my League. However we have a bunch of flex positions where a majority pick receivers.

The point at the end they wrote.....

"Defensive end is a spot where the Dolphins have invested heavily in recent drafts with very little return so far (Phillip Merling, Jared Odrick, Kendall Langford), and that keeps them out of the elite defense rankings. But they're headed in the right direction."

.....They proved nobody should be taking ESPN too seriously with this fantasy article.

Our DE aren't elite. They are very good, but fantasy writers want elite names not solid players.

I guess no one will believe it until they see it, but Bush is going to be a 3 down back, not a 3rd down back, until he proves otherwise.
