Dolphins | Poole trailing Goodman
Sun, 25 Jun 2006 07:56:17 -0700

Barry Jackson, of the Miami Herald reports Miami Dolphins CB Will Poole (knee), not back fully from knee surgery, was behind CB Andre' Goodman for the No. 3 cornerback slot during minicamp.

Wow!! This is bad news.Poole looked like a budding star pre-injury.......Man O'man didnt wanna see this today.:shakeno:

If poole isn't 100% i'm not too worried about him playin number 3

i don't think its anything to worry about...poole is rusty...but the depth chart doesn't mean a thing right now...

Goodman is a solid corner, don't make the mistake of thinking that this is all because poole isn't recovered, theres a chance goodmans just better, remember that.

i hope poole gets better.he was really supposed to be a great player and it sucks injury is preventing him from being one

its june, if it were august i would be worried, he has over a month to make it up

Your reading way too far into this. Poole is gonna be fine and will probaply end up starting opposite allen. Its pre training camp and none of the coaches have seen what either of these players could do. Poole is on of the most athletic guys on our roster, if hes healthy... he will play.

Give Poole sometime. It's not like he was recovering from a mere sprain or anything. We still have all of July and August to see what Poole can do.

Not worried at all. If this were such an issue, why is it only hitting the papers two weeks after mini camp ended? Furthermore, the depth chart at this point is meaningless, and Saban has said it himself. Poole was injured all of last season, so he is just being worked in slowly. That said, I dont know why this type of news gets some people all worked up; you can look at it as a negative about Will but how about taking it as positive news about Andre Goodman?

Yeah, thats my take as well.... I dont know if this will come out right but its kinda cool that a guy out of football for a year (who is really talented) cant make the starting lineup due to good performance from other players.

i think poole will be in much better shape come closer to the season and will play well but i do not think he will be a starter, i really like travis daniels and with a year under his belt he will be more confident and plus he's sabans guy from back at lsu....i think andre goodmans is also a solid cb, not at the starting position but last year as a back up on detriot he managed 4 picks which tied shulters picks last year which was our most for a single player

Thats what having depth is all about. In the past, the roster was practically set heading into TC, with a few backup positions up for grabs. This year, we have brought in so many pieces to compete at every spot, that it is virtually impossible for everyone to be happy with who ends up making it. But again, I dont think this news is significant considering we're in June, Will's injury (they are not going to just throw him to the wolves so early in the offseason) and the fact that Nick puts little stock in the depth chart until we get closer to the season.
