watching atlanta game on TV wow that Matt Ryan is definately a very mediocre qb lol
 
LT's win you Super Bowls.... just look at Miami and Cleveland.

Paragon's of great LT play that reeeeeaaaallllly translate to Wins on the field.
 
haha Ryan is a BAD quarterback. he is not "good" or "serviceable." if tonight's game didn't prove it, i don't know what will. a YPA under 4.0. just terrible. he's the king of checkdowns, despite having several explosive players. he's regressed heavily since his rookie season. anyone that would trade Jake Long for him...doesn't really understand how football works i guess?

there's pretty much only one proven way to actually win a super bowl: draft and sign good players for a few years. Jake Long is one of the best players in the league. there's zero reason to criticize that pick when there are literally dozens of other mind-boggling moves that warrant actual criticism.
 
Matt Ryan if drafted by the dolphins would of been the next david carr. I know it was a long time ago, but the dolphins had one of the worse offensive lines in NFL history!! We had to draft Jake Long, and it was the right pick. Should we have made better decision on filling the QB position after getting Long, yes. It was NOT a mistake drafting Jake Long.

well i think a lot has changed in the NFL since 2005 in terms of what is actually considered "franchise" quarterback. aaron rodgers was actually projected to go potentially #1, and early on alex smith, and aaron rodgers were flip-flopping for that 1 and 2 position. so to say he wasnt a "consensus" franchise QB in 2005 - what does that really mean exactly?? christian ponder went #12 this year. do u really think if NOTHING was different but the year and aaron rodgers was in the 2011 draft do u REALLY think he would have fallen farther than #12???

things have changed. dumb *** stupid fn GMs have FINALLY gotten their head out of their *** and realized that QUARTERBACKS win games in the NFL, not running backs, not defenses, QUARTERBACKS. and SOME of that is actually due to aaron rodgers. no position on the field even comes close to the impact a quarterback can have.

cam newton wasnt considered a "franchise" quarterback was he???? everybody stfu about him didnt they??? the panthers smartened up.

the fact that aaron rodgers wasnt a "consensus 'franchise' quarterback" as you says nothing about our luck or his skill coming out of college. it speaks ONLY of the state of mind of NFL gms in 2005, and our ignorance in addressing the QB position. Aaron Rodgers wouldnt last past #2 if the 2005 draft would have been held in 2011. and thats a FACT. he would be touted as a "franchise" QB coming out of college.

No, he is not a bad QB.

He's exactly what his rating says he is. Middle of the road. Somewhere between 12-18 I would place him.

I saw a very revealing segment on him 2 years ago.
He recognizes well, but sometimes late
His arm is suspect. especially over 15 yards. If he didnt have Roddy White and Gonzalez, he would really really struggle. Those two account for uncatchable catches a couple of times each game.
