Dolphins pursuing Carson Palmer?

The only logic I can squeeze from this lemon is they want Palmer to groom Luck and show him how to lead a team. There's no way that having Palmer now will net us any more wins than Henne at this point.

This simply doesn't happen. Whatever Aaron Rodgers learned from sitting on the bench behind Favre for four years in GB, he learned on his own without any input from Favre. Favre's admitted as much. I think his quote was "it's not my job." If you watched Pitt/Indy on Sunday, you heard them talk about how Curtis Painter -- and all the other QBs who've been behind Peyton -- never got opportunities to develop.

Franchise QBs want their backups to be Frank Reich, Billy Volek or Jim Sorgi types who "know their place" as backups -- or they want oldies like Jon Kitna or Kerry Collins. They aren't going to help some hot shot kid drafted in the first round take their job.

Why does Ryan Leaf's name keep coming up? I hate to use this phrase, but if you bring up Ryan Leaf in comparison to Andrew Luck, you probably don't know the first thing about football.

One ****ing guy is the reason some wouldn't draft a QB first round. Amazing. By that retarded logic, that one guy totally negates the fact that the majority of star QBs are first rounders.

He would cost us a draft pick. We don't need a washed up QB on a bad team. This team needs to rebuild not patch up the QB position.

imo you know what i cant understand ? is the fact guys on here are saying chad henne is a good QB .yet guys on here say he isnt the answer?yet there saying also its more than just QB .ok ? how do we know if its more than just QB ,that the problem is henne? and its something else because imo i dont think the QB possion is the problem on here, yet you all keep saying its chad henne ,or its something more than just QB, MAKE UP YOUR MIND IS IT THE QB OR IS IT SOMETHING MORE ?IMHO QB isnt the problem here Henne puts it where it suspose to be he cant catch the ball to,

Chad Henne is gonna stick around in the NFL for a long time. He is too talented not to . . . and I think he "could" be a pretty solid NFL QB. However you are forgetting this is a contract year for Henne. I'm sorry, I have no hope that this guy is gonna return to play football for the Dolphins next year. I just don't see it. Even if he finishes the year with a QB rating over 85, a 3 to 2 TD/INT ratio and 4000 yards passing . . . why should he stay? The fanbase is calling another QB's name at a damn scrimmage, a ****ty one at that, the guy gets pummeled every game, shows more heart than damn near anybody on the team, take all of the criticisms for the lack of success of the team . . . why would he stay here?

Rooting for Andrew Luck has nothing to do with Chad Henne being or not being a good QB . . . its about "change" . . . and although Henne may still improve, he just doesn't have that "elite" factor IMO . . . he is still good enough to win you games, and you get him a good enough team he may be able to get you a ring over time . . . but when you see a guy like Andrew Luck and he is obtainable . . . you have to make a move. The decision is made easier by A. Not having Henne under contract after the season and B. He would be the starting QB of a team that is in position to get Luck (if we have a shot).

That is a recipe for change my friend.

chasing palmer reeks of desperation..
Hey we had a draft with some decent qb's in it
if you want one that is the time to get one..

Henne for Palmer straight up would be cool.

Yea I would do that, as long as we are able to cut Palmer w/o penalties to the cap or added guaranteed money having to be thrown in. Trading Henne straight up right now would be ideal in any trade. It would give us a chance to evaluate Carson and make a decision . . . while losing nothing but an out of contract QB who more than likely wasn't going to resign even if asked.

It's too little too late now. They lose Sunday and go 0-4 then what the hell would be the point of bringing Palmer in if they could? Is he going to suddenly take Miami to 10-2 over the last 12 games? No way. And yes they would need to go 10-6, because they would be 0-4 in the AFC already. And they'd have to sweep the Jets and Bills. Forget it.

And you're sure Luck is 'elite' already?
