Dolphins | R. Brown discusses what he needs to improve on
Sat, 29 Jul 2006 14:50:23 -0700
During his press conference, Miami Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown believes that he needs to improve on his blocking schemes, carrying the ball and his study habits. Brown also noticed that with the players on this level being a bit faster, when he makes an initial move he needs to stick with it.

he is awsome.he realizes he needs to improve so he works harder.such a good role model

I think Ronnie is going to have a huge season. I want him on my fantasy football team, but as long as he is a Dolphin I will be happy.

It is funny how Ronnie actually seems genuine about it. Most football players give PC answers like "The guys in the NFL are bigger," "They're a good team," etc. Ronnie actually goes into specifics. What is it that he needs improvement. What can he do to make himself better. I just hope that he does not get too worked up about "first moves" etc. I would rather those "thoughts" become instinctual. He had 4 fumbles last year and lost all 4. Was he thinking too much during the runs rather than just doing the one most important thing a runningback should accomplish: maintaining possession of the ball. It may have been the rookie jitters, but in college, he lost none. We'll see. I believe he'll have a hell of a season if he does not worry too much about "first moves". It is good to have that knowledge, but I just don't want him rethinking his moves while he is in the middle of a run.

I agree I think he'll have a great season. The way I took his first moves comment was that he means just make his initial cut or whatever and stick with it as opposed to say "dancing" in the hole which if I remember correctly he would that sometimes at least in the beginning of the season. The fumbles I think came from him trying to make something extra happen after he was hit, I'm not sure but I thought I remember seeing people make those comments. Anyway, I just can't wait for the season to start!

I have absolutely no doubts when it comes to Ronnie. After this season is finished, no else in the NFL will either.

Ronnie danced a lot last year. No one brings it up because everyone is a homer as am I, but I call it as I see it. I remember cursing loudly at the TV set last year lord knows how many times because the kid would dance around in the backfield rather than choosing a hole and hammerin it. I remember thinking "As strong as this guy is, when he learns to hit a hole full speed like Williams, he's gonna be a monster."

^ Yep. he danced alot in the begining of the year, but I think thats because of the rookie jitters, I never heard of him dancing like that while at Auburn.

And it really stopped a lot towards the end of the year

If you watch him running in the open field his head is always moving picking apart the defense, deciding his next move, its great
