Dolphins ranked 25th

That's just his opinion, but I think we were probably in the 15-20 range.

If you equate last years draft in then I agree.

The Wanny drafts were absolute nightmares.
If you ranked only those, 25th may actually be generous.

It's amazing we still had a team with anyone talented left on it for Saban to take over.

I agree with that ranking for the most part. Wannstedt was god awful at drafting.

Without Sabans drafting last year.... we would be 31st .. only second worst to the Browns.....

Nick is the Man in drafting....I cant wait to see what he has up his sleeve on saturday........ My god its gonna be good!!!

exactly.

yeah. Wanny was terrible at drafting. thats the truth. i mean Jamar Fletcher? not Todd Heap, not Drew Brees, but Jamar Fletcher? wow. but saturday should be an awesome day. i got spoiled with only having to wait about 25 minutes last year to see our pick. now i'll have to wait like 4 hours.

We have not had a grouping of good draft in decades and I will not pass judgement that Saban is god until he has a few drafts under his belt. Last year's draft was fairly easy. At number 2 it would have been hard to take a bad pick. He could have taken Derrick Johnson and we would still have a great player and he went 15th. Any of the three backs would have had a good year, Benson had the misfortune of T JOnes playing lights out, both Brown and Caddy had thier jobs from day one either due to suspenion or just being better. Both Crowder and Roth were good value picks and Roth still might be a huge bust. Alabi and Vickerson never saw the field and Daniels had to only beat out horrible Reggie Howard although he did play solid. Too many people wanna proclaim Saban the king of draft gurus but only the evidence will prove that in the long run. Speilman's only draft where he had control he did make some good picks especially late with Hadnot and Pope plus got a steal in Will Poole, who had first round ability. Carey was a stretch pick but the really bad and stupid part is we gave up a 4th to move up and take a guy that nobody wanted this high. Wanny was pretty bad he basically would ignore needs and take the lesser player available. He had some solid picks but was way too hit and miss and was allergic to qb's. Jimmy Johnson was probably worse than Wanny, many talk about Zach and Taylor but I guess they forget Brew, Pointer,Avery, Johnson and Ruegemeyer, He had way too many high misses and its not like he did not draft a dismal LB Lacurtis Jones before Zach Thomas. Shula was a great coach in many ways but his drafting probably cost us and Marino a Super Bowl Who can forget his last draft combo of Milner and Greene. He thought he might recreate his much better combos of Toews/Gielser and Sims/Webb, well he was close lol.
Our drafting has been awful and this spans at least 25 years.

I'm not too old, but for every year I've been a fan, besides last year, we've had a terrible draft. Especially the year we lost a 1st to get Ricky! I remember that was the first year I got really into the draft and when they announced our 2nd round pick as EDDIE MOORE.....everyone at our draft party said, "Who the heck is Eddie Moore?"

There is now talk about Saban trading up with either the Vikings or jets.Vikings want our #16 for thier #17 and a fourth rounder. They think Cutler will fall to the 16th spot for some reason. The Jets want our #16 in case they get a better prospect at thier #4 and then they also think they will get Cutler at #16.In turn we would get thier extra #29 in the first and a third AND a fourth rounder.I like both ideas and think Saban can make one of these deals work out very well to our advantage.Which one would you go for?I say trade with the Jets and let Saban work his draft magic with all those juicy picks...what do you think? It seems to me that we can not let the opportunity slip away.Saban still knows these guys well and this is a pretty deep draft.

I agree with you on the Jets draft swap. He still is very fresh with all these prospects and I know he could pick the right ones.
