Dolphins Re-Sign Matt Moore

No one is trading for Matt Moore, teams have been needing QBs all the time and no one has offered squat for Moore. Most we would get is a 7 th round pick anyway

I'd take the seventh for him.

If Tannenbaum were able to trade Matt Moore, and we actually got something of value in return, he would instantly make me a believer

According to reports on the resigning . . . . multiple teams expressed interest in Matt Moore but his intention was to work out a deal to remain in Miami and did not make himself available to other teams . . . . and they looked elsewhere.

I'm not saying he's some valued commodity . . . . but when you have a guy signed, a team gets hurt at QB, gets desperate and offers "more than a 7th (which is absolutely possible" . . . it just puts another option on the table.

I haven't seen that he didn't make himself available, seems like it would be a bad strategic move

This is what he said and its believable as any politician.
There was not any report of any team making any effort to sign this guy.

Plenty of QBs were hurt last year and no one got Matt Moore desperate. Why would any team all of a sudden get desperate enough to trade anything more than a late pick. Teams need QBs now and yet there were no teams offering him a decent contract.

I think part of it is the team most likely expressed interest in retaining him, he assumed a deal would be worked out or he would get an offer during camp by someone else if he didn't.

He also seems to like being in Miami, maybe is one of those guys who actually has an understanding of his value (as a backup) and what better place to do just that then in sunny Miami. I think he has a family and constantly moving them around may be something he doesn't want to do...again, we have seen player make decisions that go beyond the football field, and this may be one.

I agree that he wanted to stay all along but if he doesn't make it look like he might leave, he doesn't get the maximum amount from the Dolphins.
IMO, it's more likely that the Tavaris Jackson visit made him take what the Dolphins were offering before the opportunity went away.

Solid deal and he also becomes a tradeable asset later in the year if a team's QB goes down and they need a QB to come in.

Fair deal for both parties . . . Matt Moore has his priorities together.

Thanks for the laugh Dude. No one, let me repeat no one wants Matt Moore as their Starter. :tubes:

Good! Great backup. I think this makes it official though. He's not starter quality and doesnt want to be anything more than a backup making big bucks. Don't blame him. Just glad to finally get that whole start moore thing behind us.
