Dolphins reached out to several defensive backs today, including Saints CB Patrick Robinson and Bills S Da'Norris Searcy, among others.

Patrick Robinson is a train wreck.

Searcy won the starting job this year (at least for the majority of the season). He was a subpackage guy before this year, but he actually pretty decent.

Patrick Robinson was very good for the Saints... when healthy, and he's never healthy. Like he makes Louis Delmas look like an iron man

Love it.

Robinson played very well as a nickel last year. He is not a press guy which the Saints had him playing.

Searcy is one of the most underrated players in FA.

Louis Delmas hopes to be back for 2015 but no guarantee ready for start of camp, much less start of regular season. So Dolphins shopping.

Robinson wasn't drafted to be a nickel corner. He was drafted to be a #1 corner. He couldn't get in the starting lineup until his third year, then lost his job multiple times. And it isn't like the Saints were replacing him with top options. He played a bit better later last season, but still not well enough to make him worth signing.

Sounds like there are others on the list so hopefully we hear some more names soon.

It looks as if the Dolphins are going to use free agency a a means to bolster the defense. May be a heavy offensive draft.

Man, I think you guys are missing the boat on Robinson. Coyle does great with veteran CB's. They always play better than they have in years - Grimes, Finnegan (before the injury). Robinson should be very cheap relative to his talent right now. He's going to find Coyle's scheme much better suited to his talents. He's quick, fast, and he has decent length and good jumping ability. He's exactly the type of acquisition we should be making in the secondary. Might be good for him to come back home, too. Played high school ball in Miami.

He looks athletic enough and wont come with a big price tag. I like the fact that he is better off the ball then press...sounds like he fits what Coyle likes in a corner
