Dolphins reaching out to Zach Streif

I don't see a deal (or even a visit) coming soon. Everything I've seen points to him wanting to stay in NO. He'll probably give them every opportunity to re-sign him. May even use us as leverage like Clark and Randall did a while back.

IF he doesn't want to be here? Then the hell with him, our days of begging folks to want to be on our team is over! Go kick rocks, Streif!

Ugh the "if he doesn't wanna be here the I don't want him" is a dumb stance. He doesn't want to leave New Orleans ideally, he probably has his family there, he's built relationships and they're a playoff franchise. Don't get not wanting to come here mixed up with having a preference. I'm sure most people would rather stay with their original team but it's a business and he's a professional.

The Saints don't have the cap space so it makes no sense if he uses us as leverage.

sticking with what i said before...i watched strief in 2013 enough where i would pass

Give him and his agent a call, ask them if they want to visit and talk, if they say no, then move on. It's that simple.

The guy built his career in NO and obviously wants to return but Saints arn't returning the love/money.

Saying "Oh well screw him!" because the dude wants to return home?

C'mon man.

Dude lives in NO. From a 7th round pick, to the starting RT for the Saints. Can't blame the guy for being heart broken. NFL is a business and Saints can't afford him.

Our options ate limited when it comes to being too picky about the o-line.

At no point is it reported he "Doesn't want to be here" or anything like that. From what has been said he had prior commitments to be at a banquet in Cincinnati. He expected to be resigned by New Orleans (and who blames him for that being his first option with him already being there). It might be New Orleans can not come up with the cash though so he I'm sure he will be doing his rounds.

My wish list:

Streif (LT)
Browner or Thurmond (CB)
Shelley Smith (G)
Hauschka (K)

Get them and it's the playoffs!

I think after that Byrd contract they can't afford anything.

Maybe Sproles trade opened up some cash, but now Streif has to take a HUGE hometown discount to stay.

Exactly, so him signing with us likely means he had NO CHOICE! I don't want a player thats reluctant to be here. Either your damn near 100% committed or go kick freaking rocks like I said before.

The hell with him and if your not careful your gonna get it a hell with you too.
