Dolphins Release Initial 2014 Regular Season Depth Chart

Figured the KR duties would have gone to Williams first and PR to Landry. Miller is listed as first team but at worst should be 1A and 1B

McCain is listed as 3rd string, but I imagine we will see him on the field a lot more than we see Freeny

Miller may be listed as the starting running back, but I expect Moreno to get the majority of snaps against New England.

they are bullish on that nate garner as the 2nd team left tackle thing...i sure hope if we get an in game injury to albert that he's not the fill left tackle...garner cannot play an nfl left tackle

Concerned about Jarvis getting hurt on PR/KR duties. I think we have a good one here hopefully he doesn't get hurt.

I suspect as the season progresses you'll see Jordan Tripp move up and get increased playing time. I echo the thought that Moreno will see the field more than Miller.

i'm uneasy about landry as our starting return specialist. dude is our future.

Even worse is the thought of Shelley Smith going down. I am shocked that Thomas has not been replaced via waiver wire.

It'd be a blunder if we dont.. I don't see how he and Tripp are 3rd string tbh, I mean Trusnik as misi's replacement no thanks

But I hope to see someone with some speed at returner

i think it may be a versatility thing...thomas showed better at right tackle in the preseason then he has in the past...not good mind you but not turnstyle bad against scrubs either...i'm not counting on this guy ever becoming a solid player...too many holes in his game still

freenys run will come on specials if anything...

11 rookies are on the 53....

Some will end up as nothing more then very solid depth....some are developmental players....and other will have an impact for years to come. Granted they still haven't played a game that matters, but it is good for the team to have in house guys to bring along.

Honestly I wouldn't be shocked if the plan is for James to shift over to LT if Albert gets hurt. Reports are that he had been getting extended looks at LT in practice the last 2 weeks.

Also for a lot of those guys (this is not directed at hoops) I would not put much stock in where they have guys listed on the depth chart. If Wake or OV get hurt early in the season I would not be shocked if they kicked Odrick out to DE again, or if Misi gets hurt I'm 99% sure that Ellerbe is moving back to MLB. And at least until Jones is healthy, I'm betting Michael Thomas is the main backup at both safety spots.

Think Moreno should be 1st, but like others have said, he'll get the majority of carries anyhow.

I see we're playing the 5-3 defence with 12 personnel as standard. That may prove tricky to sneak past the zebras.

Coaches don't want to put any of our DTs noses out of joint?

Safety worries me. Our first four teams before Jones gets back will run the ball on us all day (Pats, Bills, Chiefs, Raiders). Our SS is going to have his work cut out defending the run and the underneath against Ridley/Charles/Spiller/Mc Fadden (not to mention Vereen, Davis/Thomas, Jackson and MJD). It would be good for Delmas to know the deep stuff/ other zone is being covered, without having to wonder if he needs to bail out Jimmy. Jimmy can't be falling off tackles against these guys and the TEs.
