Dolphins Release Initial 2014 Regular Season Depth Chart

I see we're playing the 5-3 defence with 12 personnel as standard. That may prove tricky to sneak past the zebras.

Coaches don't want to put any of our DTs noses out of joint?

Safety worries me. Our first four teams before Jones gets back will run the ball on us all day (Pats, Bills, Chiefs, Raiders). Our SS is going to have his work cut out defending the run and the underneath against Ridley/Charles/Spiller/Mc Fadden (not to mention Vereen, Davis/Thomas, Jackson and MJD). It would be good for Delmas to know the deep stuff/ other zone is being covered, without having to wonder if he needs to bail out Jimmy. Jimmy can't be falling off tackles against these guys and the TEs.

I said the same thing :chuckle:

While I'm not opposed to Landry returning punts, he doesn't need to. We need someone shifty and tough for both kickoff and punt returns. Rishard/Williams should do kickoffs and punts.

Honestly I wouldn't be shocked if the plan is for James to shift over to LT if Albert gets hurt. Reports are that he had been getting extended looks at LT in practice the last 2 weeks.

Also for a lot of those guys (this is not directed at hoops) I would not put much stock in where they have guys listed on the depth chart. If Wake or OV get hurt early in the season I would not be shocked if they kicked Odrick out to DE again, or if Misi gets hurt I'm 99% sure that Ellerbe is moving back to MLB. And at least until Jones is healthy, I'm betting Michael Thomas is the main backup at both safety spots.
Pretty sure James played LT in preseason games.

he got some run but he gave up a hold when he got beat early against dallas shifted over there...i dont know if they make that switch in game with a rookie...but i do think his games best suited for left tackle of anything that we have backup wise that has gotten tackle reps...

so i would be for it...even if i know there's gonna be some hiccups making the transition to the other side

Moreno is our #1. Miller will settle into a change of pace, scat-like back when all is said and done. Unless he learns how to block, run and catch real quick.
