#Dolphins release veteran offensive lineman Nate Garner http://fw.to/Aqxonml

The Miami Dolphins have released veteran offensive lineman Nate Garner, who has been with the franchise since the 2008 season.

Garner has been a valuable reserve for the Dolphins for six seasons because of his versatility, which allowed him to start 19 games at center, guard and offensive tackle.

But a head injury got this 30-year-old shelved for the final six games of 2014, and eventually put on the team's Non-Football Injury list despite the fact he suffered a head injury in the Oct. 26 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
By releasing Garner in the final year of the three-year deal he signed in 2013 the Dolphins clear $1.65 million in cap space.

Good! This guy was serviceable for is at one point but injuries made him dead weight

I hope Garner's migraine issue is resolved. Very weird how that just never went away.

sure hope he is ok, that head injury could be serious

Omar says we cut him, probably means we just signed him to a new long term deal. ;)

Seriously though this is one move I think we all expected.

Overachieved in his time with the Fins. It was time to let him go, but we need a solid replacement with a guy who can be serviceable as a reserve all across the line. Maybe that guy is on the roster already.

Yep, expected move. Too injury prone for what we needed him for, which is to replace injured guys.

ugh never liked this guy. he was great for two plays and then bam another injury. probably caught the jake long bug.

There was a time in 2009 where I think Jake Long, Jake Grove, Justin Smiley, Nate Garner were starting at the same time for us. We really have crappy luck with getting healthy bodies on our oline.

Correction: Based on the NFLPA numbers provided the #Dolphins have $13.3M in cap space after cutting Hartline, Gibson & Garner.
