Dolphins reportedly interested in resigning center Ted Karras

Good he’ll make a great backup to Creed Humphrey. 😉
I would like to see them draft Humphrey in the 2nd round but depending on how long the contract they are going to offer Karras is for. They might be leaning toward filling others holes on the roster if they do resign Karras for more than one year.

We are drafting a receiver more likely.

Makes a lot of sense on multiple levels. Hopefully we will draft someone who can learn from the guy. Great team dude who is pretty serviceable. A two year deal would be right up our alley. One year he helps the young dude learn the ropes as rook develops, the next year he backs him up. That's an ideal situation, at least I think so.

Ideally he’s a backup. He did allow some pressures towards the end of the season, but he’s still a good player for leadership purposes

I can understand resigning him just in case we aren't able to replace him. However, I am really hoping for an upgrade here.
Unless you think Deiter could work in a pinch, that's a dangerous game to play.

Free agency is before the draft, so if you let him walk, without signing another vet, you don't have a lot of options, if the guy you draft is not ready day one.

This doesnt mean we wont draft Humphrey or Meyers, it just means that Deiter failed lol
