Well I guess now we know why Sparano wasnt fired from the get-go. It made absolutely no sense to search for a head coach without firing your current head coach. Sparano should've been fired following the interview, then if you strike out on Harbaugh you can look for a replacement elsewhere. Worse case scenario should've been promoting Nolan to HC. Hell we would've been better off giving Sparano an extra year from the get-go. How the hell can you keep a coach, look for his replacement, and then retain him? How do you expect to get any decent OC or free agent to come play for a coach they know likely wont be around at the end of 2011? THose of you banking on an OC and QB saving the day are sadly mistaken. We aren't in any position to upgrade at QB, our new OC will have to be desperate for a job and he'll still be shackled by the Sparano's conservativism. After all this we'll still be looking at Henne, Sparano, and Ireland in 2011 or worse we'll trade a high draft pick for some band-aid like Orton. The incompetence of this franchise is bind boggling.
For the first time ever Im contemplating whether I can switch teams or not. I doubt if I can but damnit if I wouldnt like to.
