Dolphins rookie quarterback Brandon Doughty is living the dream. He’s not just in the
NFL, which is a huge accomplishment in itself. He’s playing for his favorite team, which also happens to be located in his hometown.
“This is my job, but it also is pretty crazy,” said Doughty, the North Broward Prep alum who is the No. 3 quarterback behind starter
Ryan Tannehill and backup
Matt Moore.
“I don’t think there’s a lot of guys around the world that can say they play for their favorite team.”
Doughty, the seventh-round pick from Western Kentucky, was a long shot in camp – the Dolphins haven’t kept three quarterbacks on the roster in years – but he didn’t lower his expectations.
“I wanted to make this team,” he said. “That was my goal when I first got drafted was to make this team.”
