If you have been watching or following along through pre-season you will have noticed that Jerome Baker is all over the place. His practices and his three games have earned him a starting job.

According to head coach Adam Gase, Baker is the starting linebacker. Whether that lasts until the start of the season is unknown but judging by Gase’s responses to post-practice questions, he will be.

I think it's the best way to go, in the long run. We have a lot of young guys on defense that have the potential to be good solid players.

I say let them play, live with the mistakes (to a point), and next year they will be experienced in the NFL game.

Kid is gonna have a ramp up period but... wow do we need PLAYERS @LB!

That dude we traded for (was that TBum again) seems like a great guy, really bright, really articulate, but maybe missed his calling?

Agreed. At some point you need fresh blood out there. Allow them to gain experience and hope that their athleticism will make up for any mistakes made.

Also, the team need to part ways with Stephone Anthony. He is absolutely terrible.
 
I’d watch the saints cuts for a lb. although I say that every year and no one ever cuts a lb that can play.

And if we added one I’d cut Anthony. Pretty obvious Anthony is only gonna play in true goalline. He’s fallen out of favor

Baker will get better. We gonna bite the bullet with him and Raekwon this year with an eye towards 2019.

Long term I bet baker replaces Kiko at weak. He’s gonna have to get a whole lot better at the poa and carry more weight on that frame but not scrape the athlete to play long term at strong.
 
I think KIKOs job is short lived unless he returns to the KIKO of rookie stature. Hoping Baker is that guy .
 
Are they going with Baker because he has more speed? Concerned he is a bit undersized at 215lbs?
