The rookie minicamp is the one mandatory workout for the rookies outside of the team's full minicamp later in the offseason workout program. The Collective Bargaining Agreement explains that the "post-Draft Rookie Minicamp" may be held "on either the first or second weekend following the College Draft." The Dolphins elected to hold the camp the second weekend after the Draft this year.
The Dolphins will welcome in their eight-man draft class as well as all of their undrafted free agent and likely several players on a tryout basis. Included in that group are offensive tackle Ja'Wuan James, wide receiver Jarvis Landry, and offensive lineman Billy Turner, the team's first three Draft picks. Also of note are some of the undrafted free agents, including tight end Gator Hoskins, center Tyler Larsen, linebacker Tariq Edwards, and wide receiver Rantavious Wooten.

Q: What should we expect?

A: About 30 or so scared guys running around clueless.

What happens to one of these unsigned rookies if they sustain a major injury during this "mandatory" mini-camp. Does the NFL/Dolphins have insurance that covers this camp for those that have not signed contracts yet?

....signed, Gator Hoskins

Yes...

UDFA sign small contracts...typically 5,000 signing bonus and 5 guaranteed...about 10 grand total...

Going to be interesting to see where they put Turner, LG or RG. I am guessing that the position they put him in during this mini-camp is the position they want him to win in training camp. There really is no sense in putting him at LT because unless Albert is out he won't be playing there. Does anyone know if the media is allowed to attend?

My hope from this mini camp: No injuries

Jesus Nubs, way to jinx it.

that's one way to look at it, i guess

Just realistic.

A lot of people expect these guys to be pro bowl players from Day 1. When in reality most of these guys are trying not to blow chunks on first day of try outs.
