http://www.jacksonville.com/apnews/stories/073107/D8QNQDBG1.shtml The ball spiraled, seemingly for minutes - much too long for John Beck, who looked with concern at his long pass and the speedy defenders pursuing what could have been another rookie mistake.
Then Beck heard the loudest ovation of the morning practice from the 500-plus Miami Dolphins fans watching in sweltering heat.
Touchdown.
"Anytime you can give the fans something to cheer about in practice," Beck said, "you know you've done something good."
The 40-yard pass wasn't perfect, but it didn't need to be. Beck's receiver, Ted Ginn Jr., had about five yards between him and anybody else.
The rookies hope to recreate the moment often in the years to come.
