Dolphins | Saban discusses Culpepper's progress
Tue, 28 Mar 2006 19:43:26
Alex Marvez, of the Sun-Sentinel, reports Miami Dolphins head coach Nick Saban discussed QB Daunte Culpepper's (knee) recovery from his knee injury Tuesday, March 28, at the NFL meetings. "He did some straight-line running. He threw the ball some. He took some easy drops," said Saban, who acquired Culpepper from Minnesota earlier this month for a 2006 second-round draft choice. "It's not like this guy is not at a point where he can't start doing some things. I'm just going on what the trainer and the people doing the rehab with him did yesterday, but he was there early and stayed late and worked hard. We were pleased." Saban said he was still uncertain whether Culpepper will be ready for the Sept. 7 regular-season opener at Pittsburgh.

Given the condition of Daunte's knee, I wouldn't be surprised if we use a couple of draft picks on linemen. Oh, and signing Pearson might help as well.

Even if he can play and Nick knows it he will be a gametime decision. Get ready to wonder right up to game time.

Awesome

From day one it really showed that Culpepper was committed to the Phins before he was even traded here. I am sure he is working even harder in rehab.

He has the heart to be here and determination to be ready by opening day. This will only make his rehab and progress that much more promising.

Every day I read a report that makes me like the acquisition of Culpepper more and more. Well... maybe not every day lol

Oh yeah, I just hope he doesn't push too hard or try to come back too soon. You don't need to come back too soon. Remember, you are our QB of the present and future not just the QB for September 7th

I think nick already KNOWS he will be ready. Smokescreens. Just slap a good knee brace on daunte and he will be ready to roll!!

good to hear that he's taking drops already
