Dolphins | Saban still undecided about R. Williams and the CFL
Thu, 4 May 2006 20:43:39 -0700
Alex Marvez, of the Sun-Sentinel, reports Miami Dolphins head coach Nick Saban spoke with RB Ricky Williams' agent Leigh Steinberg and had still not made a decision about signing a waiver to allow Williams to play for the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL. In speaking with Steinberg, Saban expressed concerns over the wear and tear that Williams would be put through in addition to the possibility of injury facing the running back.

hell no, i dont want ricky blowing out his knee in some meaningless canadian game and then not returning to the dolphins, if at all, until 08.

keep him a fin for life.

i know for some people the earth revolves around the United States...however some folks up north don't consider the cfl a meaningless game. you would rather have Ricky left on his own for a year...i'd say there is more he could do left on his own devices to not be able to play again, than any innury possibility from playing and staying in game shape.

id rather have him in 07 healthy and rested.

I'd rather have him in Toronto, than Tibet.

What's the worst thing that's going to happen if he goes to Toronto?! He develops an irrational devotion to "The Leafs", says, "eh?", draws his O's (c-ouch, o-ut, ab-out),calls sofas "Chesterfields", buys a hot dog cart in front of the Skydome, and starts loving 2-4's ?:sidelol:

If he goes to Tibet, he might return as Batman.

Create an addendum to the contract that stats that if Ricky was to play in the CFL and get injured and or decides not to play football again after that season that he would owe the Dolphins the full amount of money remaining to be paid off plus interest for any potential late payments.

I think he should go play in the CFL, if he can stay healthy and play good, it would only enhance his stock as trade bait prior to next seasons draft. Let him play and then trade him.

Pay him some money and continue to work him out (I don't think he is allowed team contact). If not, let him play and do what he wants. He has been a steal since comming back and I have seen no effort to pay him (at least in the media).

Let him play for the CFL and stay there. He may find it attractive - marijuana is legalized in Canada, after all
