Dolphins/Saints in San Antonio?

Just look for probably the ONLY aqua and white jerseys in the house ;)

Not so fast my friend! AggieFin21 will be there in full force with the aqua #55 on! (I live about an hour and a half away)

That said, my heart goes out to those dealing with the disaster right now. But the Saints playing in SA would be a great opportunity for not only the SA community but the Saints and the NFL as well.

If it's in San Antonino I'm definately going to try to be there... I wonder were I can buy tickets...

if they moved to la la land, they'd be moving in another 2-3 years anyway because of lack of support. LA has had how many chances to support a team, yet can't?

LA had the Rams, that played in that S#!THOLE in Anaheim, then the ***** owner "midnight moved" the team to St. Louis. Let's not get started about the Raiders. Ever been to the Colliseum? It's beautiful on the outside, but prehistoric on the inside, not to mention, it's in the worst part of LA. Now let's talk about the dirtbag owner Al Davis and the lovely gang-banger fans. If you can make it inside the stadium safely, it doesn't guarantee you that you won't get your *** kicked or robbed by da Raider fans inside the stadium.

Let's not forget that there is plenty to do in LA-LA Land, so the team better be good, or play in new stadium with things to do. LA (Thank God) will not be bent over by the NFL and pay an obsorbant amount of $$ for a team, nor will it have the local taxpayer pony up for a stadium. Most people in LA would love to have an NFL team here, but we are waiting for the right situation.

:cry::cry::cry:

I was going to hold a Dolphins fans/Finheaven party outside the Dome before kickoff.

Damn.

Well, here's hoping that they decide to play the game in Baton Rouge at Tiger Stadium.

DD28, is the news true that they are going to rip down the Superdome? They mentioned it on the news, but I can't find a link to back it up.

I don't think they'll do that. There are a lot of fabricated rumors right now about the Dome and the Saints.

Don't believe anything until it becomes official.

I don't think they would do that also.

However, ABC's Ted Koppel said that it was going to be torn down during halftime of the FSU/Miami game. :(

I hope they don't.

:lol::lol::lol:

"Ted Koppel."

Does he even know how to spell "Superdome?"

...If a National network news anchor reported the sky is blue, I'd run outside to check again myself. I have a hard time believing anything those fools say these days.

well i guess i should chime in here since i'm one of two San Antonians on this board...

i hope they get a chance to play here - the Alamodome is a nice facility that the Spurs used to play at until SBC built the SBC center which is nicer, bigger, and has more capacity. The Alamdodome is kind of small for a NFL football field stadium, but will get the job done.

Now that my 5 year stay in Dallas is over and I've returned to San Antonio (where I lived for 14 years prior to Dallas), I need to correct you on a couple of facts. The Alamodome is LARGER than the SBC center even in it's basketball layout.

Alamodome Info
SBC Center Info

While the dome is past it's prime in terms of technology and wow factor, it's not that bad of a football location. The AlamoBowl has done pretty well and they will be lobbying to have the game moved up in the BCS standings to be a more significant bowl.

While you are correct about SA being a Spurs first city, I am still a firm believer that the city would easily support a NFL team. I believe they sold over 55,000 tickets to the Cowboys exhibition game a couple of years back. I would like the Saints to play this season in San Antonio to prove to the NFL that SA can support a NFL team.

Since the Saints plan to continue their practices in San Antonio all season, it just makes sense to make their home games here too.

the Spurs are the thing down here, and every other car has a damn spurs sticker on its back window. They love their Spurs down here.
Then maybe we can switch cities since you don't care much for them :D

There is NO chance whatsoever that the team relocates here permanently. I do not see that happening - too much politics behind that.

Besides, the "indigenous" people here aren't much for NFL fans.... the Spurs are the thing down here, and every other car has a damn spurs sticker on its back window. They love their Spurs down here.

I personally don't care for them. But it would be nice to be able to watch a Dolphins game in person for the first time in ten years. I know if they do come, myself and Yardman13 will be at the game with Jerseys on... Just look for probably the ONLY aqua and white jerseys in the house ;)
I'd drive up from corpus christi in a minute. I already amde reservations in SA just in case

Ticket Info

I've already purchased tickets to Miami/Saints game in the Superdome, but I'm sure they are going to be cancelled and refunded (hopefully) shortly. Anyone looking to go as a group to the game? Let me know..

Move to San Antonio instead of L.A.? What the hell would they be thinking...
The Saints owner has most of his business investments in San Antonio including the largest car dealerships in the area. Plus San Antonio has proven they can support a sports franchise in the Spurs so why shouldnt they be given a chance to have a team. I mean LA has had multiple teams that havent worked out for them so I guess its there own fault they dont have a team

I agree.....if Dallas can host the Cowboys and Mavericks and Rangers....(pretty close to Dallas)

and Houston, who has the Rockets, Texans, and Astros....

Then I'm sure San Antonio can make room for a NFL team!
