Someone like Kentwan Balmer may "fall", or even Phillip Merling (I highly doubt he will), but no way Ellis does. There was a good possibility of Quinn sliding last year because there were only a handful of teams needing a QB, or at least needing one bad enough to use a first round pick. If Cleveland didn't take him at 3, Minnesota didn't take him at 7, and we didn't take him at 9, he was going to fall quite a ways-which obviously was what we all saw. Branch slipped because his lack of work ethic and conditioning became more apparent as the draft drew closer.
The only way Ellis slides far on draft day is if some big thing comes out about him, character wise, between now and then. Something that most likely would have already been brought to light. Basically, it's not going to happen. The Bengals would trip all over themselves to draft Ellis if he is still there at their pick, and the only way it's even contested is if Vernon Gholston is somehow still on the board, which won't happen, either.
