Dolphins send the TROOPS to Baton Rouge!!!

Nope -- not according to Armando.

Dolphins coach Joe Philbin is not visiting La'el Collins in Baton Rouge or anywhere else. Neither are Mike Tannenbaum nor Dennis Hickey.

or not

This makes too much sense . Plus it's probably better that Philbin isn't going

Abramson is reporting that Landry, johnson and shepard are going on their own. Better than nothing I guess.

Stupid courtship of a player. When your powers that be do not make it a point to come out and visit Collins, if rumours are true the Fins are interested, tha'ts a great way to show somebody their welcomed or that indeed they are coveted. Big miss by the Big 3 heads. If I were La'el I'm calling up Rex Ryan and asking where do I sign.

Despite report from NOLA saying Philbin was on trip, #Dolphins players went to Baton Rouge to woo Collins. No team employee, per source

The fact that no executives are in Baton Rouge -- just Dolphins players -- makes me think a deal with La'el Collins won't happen imminently

The troops are applying pressure

I want Collins if he is not involved with the murder of his baby mama.
Not sure how I feel about flying our players out thre...

Great move by the team. Make him feel wanted. The Fins are a great opportunity for him.
Man this offseason has been great no matter how this turns out...but I am optimistic..

This is about optics. The same reason no one threw a 7th round pick on him. Teams do not want to be officially courting a player who is being questioned by police for a capital crime. The players going has a different feel to it but the message is the same.

His agent has also said he doesn't want to meet with any teams right now. Really, what's the point. He can get all the info he needs through his agent, over the phone. No interview required.
