definitely... i like A LOT!!!!

but... wouldnt mind Louis Delmas or Patrick Chung at a lower 2-3 picks in the draft if possible!!!!!

Wow, that's one position to scratch off the draft board. And boy oh boy does that nail the coffin shut for Jason Allen ... big CB or nothing for him now.

While I am a Wilson fan and really love the thought of those two patrolling the middle back there.. I am cautiously optimistic...

Wilson is really a younger Bell (with hands) they are both aggressive attacking Safeties who excel against the run. I worry about the play action and both guys biting on fakes with a run first mentality... but adding 129 tackles with Merling and Langford maturing, undoubtedly we just got a whole lot better and meaner against the run.

The coaches are going to need to keep these guys disciplined or we may see some 75 yard bombs landing in our backyard... but color me excited as Wilson is a tackling machine.

I'm scared of the big throw downfield but we will see...

I agree that we may be vulnerable, but our balanced safeties complicate presnap reads for the quarterback and center. Further, it allows us to bring pressure from more directions without obvious mismatches. If Wake can bring pressure in the NFL, then we will have a vastly improved pass rush. That is why BP and Ireland focused on safeties. I expect our defense to take a dramatic step forward in 2009.

Definitely a CLEAR message to Jason Allen that he is either a CB or cut . . . that is good tho . . . because even last year he was playing FS into preseason . . . . he has been a CB since then . . .and we KNOW that is not going to change.

And call me a fan of still drafting a FS . . . and even it being Lou Delmas in round 2 still . . . . just in case . . . if he is best player on the board . . . draft Lou . . put him on special teams . . . and in nickel and dime packages . . . and groom him as a pure FS . . . . because the 2 guys we have now . . .are both SS's. Can they play FS, sure, but it is not ideal.

Still, I rather have a Ed Reed Type at FS . . . over a Gibril Wilson type . . . . but we should be dominate against the run if we secure the NT spot . . . and we should be able to bring tons of pressure.

I expect ALOT of safety blitzing . . . and I pray our CB's are ready for the big throws.

As long as Bell and Wilson play disciplined and dont bite on fakes or get caught being too aggressive. I agree completely.

We are going to need a bitg cover corner with these type of safetys. If we can find one of them and add a pass rusher our defense is going to be sick.
