Dolphins shopping McCown, Beck

I read the same thing in either the Herald or the Sun-Sentinel today...can't remember which.

Said they'd be lucky to get a 6th-7th rounder for either of them.

Not going to get much for either guy at this point Im afraid. If Beck was a proper age for a second year pro, he might command something of significance......hey, there is after all still Cam Cameron and maybe Rick Speilman will rear his ugly head and give us a second rounder. McCown will most likely be released

Beck most likely destination would be Baltimore. Can you imagine if Cam begs the FO to cough up a 2nd or 3rd rounder for him? That would be amazing.

His value will increase more towards the end of preseason when teams start thinning out due to injuries and players that did not pan out.

Tampa is going to be trying to do the same thing with Chris Simms. Culpepper is also a free agent, so it could be difficult to trade one for anything.

This is just speculation on Floyd Reese's part based on his opinion that the Dolphins will not keep four QBs on the active roster this season.

• Former Tennessee Titans general manager Floyd Reese, now with ESPN, said the notion of the Dolphins keeping four quarterbacks is ''unrealistic and outrageous'' and believes they will get only a late-round pick for Josh McCown or John Beck, if that. ''I wouldn't think they would have much value,'' he said. Miami reportedly will gauge trade interest in both but is on the hook for McCown's $2.5 million signing bonus if he is traded or cut.

Now you couldn't even get a donkey ride for C-Pep. He is also one of the dumbest guys around if he actually thought Pitt was bringing him in to compete for a starting job. Hey C-Pep - still think you don't need an agent? Way to save a few bucks there - smart career move.

I don't see Beck or McCown long for this team come next year so whether we eat McCown's cap # now or later he is going soon. Beck is already passed by Henne so does it really matter if he stays? He ain't playing. I can see them drafting another QB next year - lower rds to groom as a project behind Penne and Henne. Unless they have seen something in Beck that hasn't been reported.

I still can't believe he went all the way to Pittsburgh thinking he would compete for the starting job. Football players aren't very smart outside of football, but come on.

But with that said, he was still brought in, which means some think he can still play. And I think Chris Simms is better than him and our quarterbacks on the block, so unless there are a ton of QB injuries, a move for a pick will be hard.

we just arent ever gonna quit waisting picks are we
