drew brees will be free in 2006 he would be an excellent pick up next offseason.draft wise saban should study mike vick's little brother marcus vick this kid is awesome you think vick is great this kid is way better then him.

micke vick brough his team to a national championship...marcus vick has done NOTHING!!!

Marcus Vick was also busted for possession of the leaves all Dolphins fans love to hate.

(got the names mixed up...duh)

Marcus Vick and Vince Young are both overrated. The guy we need to go get is Omar Jacobs. He is the next Culpepper, and he'd be perfect in our system.

Now, I like this guys thinking. Only haters of the big 10 or anything but the Dolphins, would think Brees season in SD last year was a fluke. The kid has alot of talent. And, he would be a very nice trade, and solve our problems. It will cost, but he is young, and is proven. (you know what you will be getting, with 10-12 years to go). Sounds worthy of the 1st rounder, we would have to toss.

All Mike Vick does is win. I don't know why this guy is talked bad about. His record as a starter is 24-14-1. He is young and still learning and has all the skills in a QB you would want except accuracy. If Vick weren't signed longterm I can't see how you wouldn't want this guy to be our QB.

Because he cannot throw the ball to win games, consistently any way. He sure can run well though. He has a world of talent, but when it comes to passing it seems like it is almost a 2nd thought for him. IMO that makes him an AVG QB at best.

Trent Dilfer can't throw the ball at all and won the Superbowl. Teams have to gameplan for him and he has gotten better throwing the ball every year. The WR and TE's have been awful in the ATL till Crumpler stood up last 2 years. He isn't the greatest passing QB yet but he has more TD's than INT's (36-26) which is a good sign for a young QB. David Carr who most teams would love to have has more starts than Vick (43-36) but has a much worse (34-42) Td-Int ratio. Remember Vick is 24 years old..

Vick, the 2 or 3 game wonder ?? Let's see him play an entire season and come even close to what his brother has done first...

Brees...another 1 year wonder...that may change this year, he may actually be better than what he has shown prior to last year. But what does it say that the Chargers still went out and drafted a QB, arguably one that is better than Brees with him on the roster...He'll get traded, most likely...but hopefully not here...while he's shown more than Gus or AJ so far, he has a much better cast around him and much more stable offensive environment right now than our guys do...how much will that affect him...He is NOT a Favre, Marino or Elway so to expect him to carry the team is assinine...

You know what, I wouldnt be surprised if we tagged Drew one more year..wouldnt surprise me at all.

It still surprises me that people say Drew sucked his first 3 years (which is true if you were to look at team record alone). But the guy worked with what he had. He had absolutely NO O-LINE! Half the time the guy was picking his helmet off the ground. It took Houck a solid 2-3 years and either a lot of luck or AJ SMITH being a genius in finding Olivea and resurgence of Goff 2 years ago. You put Brees behind a solid O-line, he will do wonders. I think its the same case for Feeley, you need 2-3 years to build an O-LINE and get the players that Hudson wants; not from the previous regime.

I think the main problem with the Fins (from the first preseason that I saw), is not entirely the fault of Feeley. The pocket collapses ALL THE FREAKING TIME from the edges! Should I even mention the problem with the center who has turnstiles for hands. Now mind you, I didnt get to see yesterdays pre-season game, but if it were anything close to last weeks, I WOULD SUGGEST FIXING THE O-LINE BEFORE addressing a QB. Hell, you can have Montana or Marino back there, but they will never win unless that O-line is solidified. And another thing, WHY IN THE HELL ARE YOU GUYS WASTING YOUR TIME WITH FREROTTE? You have a young QB in FEELEY, who I think the jury is still out on becuase he doesnt have any supporting casts around him on the O-LINE, see what he can do when its fixed. THere is a reason why Gus is a journeyman QB. Are you really going to depend on your future on Gus?

So now you are throwing Trent Dilfer into this discussion? You are making my point my friend.

I am saying first you don't have to be Peyton Manning to win in the NFL if you can manage a game good something Vick has done being (24-14-1) as a starter. Vick is 24 years old, only has 36 starts, and already has more passing skills than half the NFL starters. I don't even half to mention his running skills. To call him an average QB is an insult, every team would trade there QB for this guy sans Manning and Brady.

Yikes, I wouldnt. Vick is an AVERAGE QUARTERBACK, AMAZING ATHLETE.
Break down his numbers if you'd like, the guy can not make the "clutch throws" and reason for him struggling with the WEST COAST OFFENSE is because he cant make the passes. He's also got one hell of an arm, but so did Billy Joe Tolliver, Jay Schroeder, etc...but no way am I comparing Vick to those 2. As said, AVERAGE QB based on ability to throw, AMAZING athlete in what he can do.

Also take into consideration the offensive style of other teams. Would he fit in San Diego's offense? No.
1. You have an elite back in LT (Id prefer him running).
2. A very solid TE that requires passes over/under and on top.
3. A core of possesion receivers that run a tons of short routes (passes that Vick has a hard tme with.

So NO, I'll keep Brees with our offensive scheme. Yes, I can imagine how deadly that would be with LT and Vick in the back, blah blah blah...but as far as QB skills, Id take Culpepper, McNabb, Brady, T.Green, Favre over your boy Vick.

We need to go after Brees or Rivers next year. I highly doubt Feeley will become the answer, as I've felt the entire way. Even if Frerotte has a good year, what is he, 34-years old? We need a good, young QB.
