dolphins should go after brees/vick in 2006

Bulger yes throws int's but has 7 more td's than int's not great but, when you look at Vick he just about throws 1 td for every int that's horrible. Is Bulger the next Marino NO but he better than Vick.

Stop looking at the stats and remember who wins games. Vick 12-16 82 Yards 2 TD's, 0 Ints, 8 rushes, 119 yards. Oh and a big 47-17 victory. Just because Vick doesn't get it done with his arm doesn't mean he isn't a good QB.

Please, no Rivers. He aint the answer. Yes, he hasn't played yet, and you ask how do I know? Because, I remeber him in college. It's only his hype, that made him a "top" prospect.

Be my guest, and get Rivers, if you want another Feeley.....

I dissagree, he was a very good QB in college with not very much around him.. His hype didn't start until after his private workouts...the one thing he did in college was keep his team in games, despite inferior talent...that is one thing that you want your QB to do...

At any rate...Rivers won't be here next year...either Brees will show to be a one year wonder and they'll trade him instead (which would be worse than having an unproven Rivers here by far) or Brees will show decent again and he'll be traded somewhere...not here tho...Saban wants his own guy...

Ok randall won games but, where did that get him. Plus you still never answered my question. Define to me what a QB does?

Leads his offense to points and victories.

Have a spy that can tackle on him and a decent secondary and you beat the Falcons.
.

As in what the Chiefs did to him last season. They went with plan of, lets have Vick pass.

And the Falcons made it to the NFC champ. and the chiefs didn't make the playoffs.

WHat exactly didn't you like about his college game?? I watched everyone that I could at the time and have most still on tape. Please give some reason to your statement. Did you not like the throwing motion, his release (which is described as being 2nd only to Marino), or just the fact that he played on a horrible NC state team that he made respectable? I personally would give next years 1st for him in a second. I can guarantee he is better than anyone coming out next year.

What reasons do you want? He is pretty accurate, he can focus, but there lies his problem. He focuses too much. He has some athleticism too him, but dont get all on that wagon, he's athleticsim isnt that great. NC Sate wasn't that bad of a team. The reason you all hate Vick, is why you should hate Rivers too. He doesn't make rash decisions. He like's to pull the ball down, and he certainly doesnt have the Vick wheels. He wont throw the balla way either. He is firey, and tries to make plays, but he just simply cant, with his limited athleticism. Omar would definately be an inprovement, and so would Kellen. Matt "Turd" Leinart would be worse then Rivers. If I had to choose between River and Leinart, I would go with Rivers all day long. But, that is what is nice about FA, it starts a month before the draft, and we can get Brees, if SD dont want to trade Brees, then you can weigh the options. But, I would definately give a first for Brees, but I would only give a 3rd for Rivers. SD can hollar that they gave a first all day long, all I would say is, he isn't proven, and you can keep on paying him, for all I care. They sure wont cut Brees, but they will have to cut Rivers, or end up bringing that price tag down. Either way, it all hypothetical anyways, and I fully trust Randy Mueller. He will do the right thing.

Geez Green Monster: You're still at this? As Ive said plenty of times, VICK is A VERY GOOD PLAYER; ok AMAZING ATHLETE..BUT AS A QB, he is average!

If you're a stats guy, look at the numbers. If you're not, look at the results. Whenever Vick gets contained, whether it be "spy's" or zone schemes, or 5 man fronts, or hell, even 8 man front rotations to keep fresh, he is not your AMAZING QB. Yes, the ultimate is to win games, but when passes are needed to be made, especially in their WCO, Vick does not shine.

Why do you think people kept criticizing ATL playcalling last year? Everyone was wondering, why turn Vick into a QB, he simply is not. how many times did you hear this last year? Let the kid do what he's capable of, and thats to run around in the backfield like a RB. In other words, VICK can't run the WCO.

I think you're using GREAT QB a little too loosely, AVERAGE QB; GREAT ATHLETE.

Just to say it one more time: VICK IS AN AMAZING PLAYER THAT CAN LEAD HIS TEAM TO WIN, but as a QB, he is average.

Where you got that he pulls it down to fast is beyond me. You have done 0 research and just dont have the facts. Are you making this stuff up. Here are the facts on Rivers college career. These are not based on 1 half of preseason football.

I dont like the Idea of ethier Vick becoming a QB at Miami.but I cant say that they arent talented.Mike has proven he can do more than just run he's actually a pretty good passer, esp. compared tp Feeley,Marcus I really cant comment too much on him I loathe VT.I'm a diehard FSU fan so I stay as far away from VT games as I can.

Kid Vick sucks. No amount of hype will change my mind on that

So true. people need to look at it this way. Give Vick, Marinos rushing ability, and than would he be considered an elite QB. no i don't think he would. Vi ck is OVERRATED. How every Give Marino, Vicks Rushing ability what would have happen than.

I am trying to figure out with the Chargers are doing. I have looked into the situation, and there is no way they can trade Rivers because of the cap hit they would take. Basically, Brees is going to be a free agent after this year and they will have no choice but to turn things over to Rivers. If that is the case, I just don't understand why they franchised Brees and didn't just turn the team over to Rivers this year. Can someone explain this to me?

I agree with you.

Their approcah doesn't seem to make much sense. Unless, they believe that they can win it all this year and would like the luxury of two QB's.

Stats are stats. I watched him against a top 3 defense his senior year too. That would be my boys, the Buckeyes. I saw all i needed to know he wasn't worthy. You can hoot and hollar for your boy, obviously you are an ACC or NCState fan, which is fine, but you aint going to convince me otherwise. He is what he is, he wasn't deserving of where he got selected. I think Ben proved that.
